It's not uncommon to see a connection between drug abuse and owning exotic animals. The recent movie "Cocaine Bear" may not have received critical acclaim, but it has sparked interest as it is loosely based on a true story. Now, another real-life incident has come to light - meet Cocaine Cat.

Amiry is a male serval, a type of wild cat native to sub-Saharan Africa. However, Amiry was found in Ohio with cocaine in his system. Hamilton County Dog Wardens (HCDW), a division of Cincinnati Animal Care (CAC), rescued Amiry from a tree in Cincinnati in January. A routine drug test revealed the presence of narcotics in his system. Fortunately, Amiry's health has not been significantly affected by the drugs, but he did suffer a broken leg while trying to escape from his rescuers.

It is clear that Amiry did not make his way from Africa to Ohio on his own, and the circumstances of his presence in Ohio are still under investigation.

HCDW staff arrived at the scene and realized that the animal was not a leopard, but a serval. The exact details of how Amiry ended up in the tree and broke his leg are unclear. However, it is suspected that he may have been owned illegally as servals are not allowed to be kept as pets in Ohio.
