Leaving full-time employment to enter retirement is a big transition in most people's mindset and behavior. Especially Baby Boomers who may have always had a full-time job or for career military people who know nothing different than the military. There are many factors that go into preparing for retirement or flipping the switch like changing from saving to spending or going from full-time work to finding how you like to spend your days.
My guest today is here to help you prepare for some of the 35 financial, lifestyle, and social transitions you'll encounter upon entering retirement. Dr. Barbara O'Neil is the owner/CEO of Money Talk: Financial Planning Seminars and Publications where she writes, speaks and reviews content about personal finance.
Today I want to talk about something that many service members don't understand until it is too late. And that is your security clearance and the impact your personal finances have on it. Many military spouses are also not aware that their financial behavior can be impacting their spouse's clearance.
Here's what I want to go over so you'll be able to avoid some issues or help someone else avoid in the future.

When your house is cluttered and unorganized, it makes it hard to focus. The details of your life like finances get lost in the shuffle.
But when your house is organized, you find calm in the chaos. Calm, cool, and collected is how you want to be to manage your financial life. Being organized means, you're able to focus on the details because you can see them clearly.
My guest today is here to share advice on how to get your house organized and in order. Christa Curtis is not only a Navy spouse and mom of four. She's an organizing professional and founder of Permanent Change of Storing, an organization service that specializes in military family lifestyle.
I have to warn you. I was excited to talk about getting organized with Christa, so I may have let out too many secrets about how I like to "magically" get my house clean.

Dr. Springer's work has been featured on NPR, NBC, CBS Radio, Military Times and Marine Corps Times.
Together they have authored a book Beyond the Military: The Handbook for Warrior Reintegration and they are on the show today to share how their book can be used as an integrative strategy for civilian reintegration, continued growth, and lifelong success as a veteran leader in civilian society.
If you or a loved one is preparing to leave the service this show is going to be a great resource for you.
