  • Why You're Overwhelmed (Let's Change That)
Today I want to talk to you about why you get overwhelmed and what to do about it. I’m going to give you three common mistakes moms make that that lead to them feeling overwhelmed, and three practical strategies to prevent that. It’s really no question why moms get so overwhelmed, you could probably come up with three reasons right now, you could probably come up with at least three solutions right now. So why are you listening to this episode? The reason is likely because you keep finding yourself in the same place over and over again and you’re asking yourself how you keep letting the overwhelm happen. The first thing I want to say is, you’re doing an amazing job, I know you don’t hear that enough, you really are, and you deserve some trophies for real, but, at the end of the day, our mental and emotional health and energy is entirely up to us to manage, and that includes maintaining an organizational life structure to ensure we’re getting done what needs to get done and not burning ourselves out, managing our workload, and setting healthy boundaries while managing expectations appropriately. So in this episode I am going to give you the strategies for overcoming overwhelm, while also reminding you, the belief that mom life is just overwhelming by nature does not have to be true, and you have the power to change anything that’s not working for you. • 3 Permission Slips For Mom | Kris Rice W/ Deconstructing Wellness
Get your free download of my life-changing worksheet The Mama Miracle at www.themamamiracle.comI brought a beautiful woman on the show today who has three permission slips that she wants to give her fellow moms. Kris Rice, is the founder of Deconstructing Wellness, and she empowers high-achieving mamas to prioritize their wellness without feeling like they have to spend 3-hours a day meditating! Hallelujah! In this episode, we’re going to talk about overall wellness, and let me just share, in Kris’s own words, what she sent to me before we recorded this episode, that, “Despite the pandemic moving high-performing women from the boardroom to the kitchen table, for many of them this doesn’t mean downtime. It most likely means pushing to achieve even more, with kids and partners being at home, while still exceeding in their roles at work. Now that it’s been months of the “new normal” many of us are struggling to keep it all together.” She says, “Sometimes, we just need someone else to tell us that it’s okay. That we’re not failures because we want to slow down or pause for a minute. My vision is to take this opportunity that we have to reset and issue these women a permission slip - the permission to yes, use this time wisely and productively, and to also indulge in themselves - a luxury they don’t likely make much time for.” Ugghghh this is so good, and feels so refreshing, and is exactly why I brought her on the show today! Kris is here to help you free yourself of self-imposed guilt, shame and judgement. In Kris’s own words, “To finally feel a sense of acceptance to slow down, recharge and give back to themselves the way they do to others every single day.” The three key areas that Kris would like to invite you to be flexible in are: Permission to shift your morning routine. According to Kris, “Shifting your morning routine doesn’t make you a failure, it makes you amenable to circumstances.” Permission to repurpose your time. According to Kris, “Not everything has to be go-go-go all the time, it is OKAY to pick up a new hobby that has nothing to do with career success!” Permission to feel the feels. Kris says that “once we’ve moved through our feelings, not making them wrong, then we can look toward how we can shift positively.” If you like what you’ve heard so far, you are in for a feel-good episode today and, I hope you enjoy our chat!Get Kris’ 5 Steps To Reversing Burnout at https://www.deconstructingwellness.com/motivationFollow Kris Rice on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/deconstructingwellness/Check out her Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/deconstructingwellnessConnect with Kris Rice on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/deconstructingwellness

  • Step Into The CEO Role
It’s so ironic to me that we, as some of the strongest, capable, resourceful, resilient, figure-it-out people in the universe, and I truly, truly believe that we are, are also the ones who doubt ourselves the most. We constantly beat ourselves up. We constantly second guess ourselves. We worry that we’re never doing it right, we worry that we’re never doing enough, we worry that we’re always getting it wrong. We dismiss our role and the importance and value of our role as “just moms,” especially if we are not financially contributing to the family, or if we don’t make a lot of money, as if that some how has anything to do with our worth (spoiler alert sister, it doesn’t).We get wrapped up in the everyday mom struggles, and lose sight of our ability to have genuine intelligent adult conversations, that we begin to question our value in the adult world, and on top of that, we question whether we’re even doing it right at home, and if our parenting is effective. It’s SO ironic to me, and I wish that, there were just a magic solution for all of us mamas to just be more confident all the time, and trust ourselves, and feel more empowered more often, but the truth is, self-confidence is a process, and it’s an ongoing process. Because motherhood is such a mind-fuck, with so many days where we are left feeling like we didn’t exactly win, it has to be an ongoing job to keep our mind right, to remind ourselves that we’re not doing anything wrong, that we’re worthy of love and acceptance, and that, we are always growing, we have unlimited potential to grow in the ways in which we want to grow. Because self-love, self-acceptance, self-worth, self-confidence, all of the things we want and deserve, doesn’t mean that we turn a blind eye to the areas in which we want to grow.I’m not going to be the person to tell you that you’re perfect just as you are and that you have no growing left to do, I mean, you are perfect just the way you are in terms of being worthy of love and acceptance and everything you want in this life, because you were born that way and there is NOTHING that could increase or decrease that worthiness, but no matter who you are, or how successful you are, or how much money you make, or what your credit score is, we are all equally a work in progress, we’re all constantly evolving, and I believe, we are right where we need to be on our journey on this planet. Just like our kids are growing and learning, we’d never tell them to stop, but, we honor their journey and we nurture the growing process. In this episode, I want to honor you, all that you do, all that you are capable of, and perhaps, NOT capable of on any particular day, and respecting that, and give you some practical tips on how to increase your self confidence and how worthy you feel, and encourage you to step in to your everyday role like a CEO shows up to work. Let’s talk about the mentality that a CEO brings with her to her job every day, and how that can be applied at home.I am so glad you’re here. You inspire me so much. Your’e the reason why I’m here because I believe in you. Because once upon a time I was a girl who didn’t believe in herself, and then I found my power, and that changed my life and change what I felt capable of, and I know that there are some of you who deep down still have belief and worth issues, but you still have incredible power, you just need to find it and tap into it. I truly feel honored to be in a career where I get to be among my fellow moms, some of the most amazing people in this universe.Join my Planner Makeover Course at www.plannermakeovercourse.comGet my life-changing worksheet, The Mama Miracle, for FREE at www.themamamiracle.comFollow me on Instagram at www.instagram.com/saramuender

  • Dealing With D-MER | Dysphoric-Milk Ejection Reflex
Today I want to discuss D-MER, which stands for Dysphoric-Milk Ejection Reflex. It’s a phenomenon where the mom experiences an awful feeling just before having a letdown. It’s NOT postpartum depression, and is often completely mismanaged by the medical community because they simply don’t have an understanding what it is yet. I have personally experienced this condition while breastfeeding all three of my kids now, and, I’ll be honest, it’s really, really hard to live with. But…. I’ve found ways to cope and I’d love to share with you my experience today. I’m also going to introduce you to the go-to D-MER expert, Alia Macrina Heise, who wrote the book about D-MER. I got to have a conversation with her, which I am going to share with you. I hope that you learn something from this episode, even if you’ve never had D-MER, and if this is something you think you have, or you’ve had in the past, then I hope you can get some understanding from this very special Motivation For Moms episode.Follow me on Instagram at www.instagram.com/saramuenderGet your FREE copy of my life-changing worksheet, The Mama Miracle at www.themamamiracle.comD-MER ResourcesLearn more about D-MER at www.d-mer.org Join the D-MER support group https://www.facebook.com/groups/18640836364/

  • Mother's Day Reminders
I want to encourage you to maybe listen to this one with earphones in, because this is a heart to heart from one Mama to another. My intention is to help YOU fill your soul, and Honor yourself, because so many of us have all of these expectations on Mothers Day, and we end up getting let down. The truth is, we all deserve to be pampered and spoiled and loved every day. especially today, but some of us don’t always walk away feeling like we really got what we feel we deserved or what all of the commercials set us up for right? Especially now, it’s a weird time where we can’t necessarily go to the spa or go to brunch or do the things that we so desperately long for on Mother’s Day. For our spouses, our partners, our kids who would traditionally set up things like this for us on Mother’s Day, it’s going to require them to be extra creative to make us feel special on this special day, and it may not necessarily be their strength to do so. As a result, maybe some of us end up feeling a little resentful of the people in our life who we expect to make this day amazing for us and to bend over backwards to make us feel special. It certainly doesn’t help when our friends post on social media what THEIR spouses and kids did, and we compare ourselves to them. Today, I want to honor YOU and remind YOU of the power that you have to take responsibility for your own happiness, to stop expecting OTHERS to fill our emotional needs, to stop comparing yourself to other moms, and to choose to intentionally live a life that makes you happy, gives you joy, and fills your soul. I hope you enjoy this Mother’s Day replay, and just know that I’m thinking of ya, and I’m standing to shoulder with you my friend, today, and always. To get my online Planner Makeover Course for 50% this weekend only, go to www.plannermakeovercourse.com and enter code MOM at checkout.Connect with me on Instagram at www.instagram.com/saramuenderBe sure to leave a review on iTunes or as a screen shot with caption on Instagram, and I may just feature your review on an upcoming episode!

  • SOS Save Our Sanity: Dealing With Uncertainty
This is the third and final episode of my 3 part SOS Save Our Sanity series. I created this three part series to help you through some of the most challenging aspects of the pandemic we’re all living through right now. This week we’re talking about dealing with uncertainty. I want to talk to you about how to deal with uncertainty, why uncertainty is a gift to us, and how to get the most out of this particular time we’re living in. As a mom, you are no stranger to living with unpredictability and uncertainty. Our kids sure do a good job at keeping us on our toes, so that’s why I know you can handle uncertain times with peace and grace. But if now more than ever, you’re feeling like an airplane, circling in it’s flight path, with no place to land, unsure of where your final destination even is, feeling stressed about when this pandemic is going to end and when life will feel back to normal, then this episode is for you. The thing is, it’s not about finding more ways to take control, or having all the answers even, but about discovering your peace despite the uncertainty, and learning how to ground yourself, in any uncertain environment. I hope that by the end of this episode, you feel more empowered and capable of successfully dealing with uncertainty, and even grateful for what uncertain times can do for you and your family and the world at large.Visit www.themamamiracle.com to get your FREE copy of my life changing worksheet, The Mama Miracle.Connect with me on instagram at instagram.com/saramuender
