MotoAmerica Off Track with Carruthers and Bice

Former Royal Enfield Build. Train. Race. and current Twins Cup racer Sonya Lloyd is our guest on this week's episode of Off Track With Carruthers And Bice where she catches us up on her plans of hopefully racing in the FIM Women's Circuit Racing World Championship (WorldWCR) in 2025 in addition to some one-off rides in the MotoAmerica Championship. Brandon Paasch is hopeful that the Vision Wheel M4 ECSTAR Suzuki team has him back for a second full season in the MotoAmerica Superbike wars. Paasch was ninth in last year's title chase with a best result of fifth, a spot he earned twice in 2024. He also made some rookie mistakes and crashed a few times along the way. We caught up with the 23-year-old Paasch for this week's episode of Off Track With Carruthers And Bice to talk about the season past and what might come next for the popular "Jersey Boy."

Welcome to our 300th episode of Off Track With Carruthers And Bice, and we can't think of a better guest to share the milestone episode with than Rahal Ducati Moto's Kayla Yaakov. When we started this podcast in 2018, Yaakov was 11 years old and now she's a top-level racer in the MotoAmerica Supersport Championship. Yaakov has moved up through the MotoAmerica ranks quickly, beginning in Mini Cup before a move to Junior Cup, Twins Cup and now to Supersport. She's only one step away from being a Superbike racer, which is her goal. Yaakov finished seventh in her rookie season of Supersport racing with two podiums, including a second-place finish at Ridge Motorsports Park. Fresh from off-season knee surgery, Yaakov allowed us to take her away from her schoolwork to chat on the 300th Off Track With Carruthers And Bice.

It's been more than three decades since Kevin Schwantz won the 500cc Grand Prix World Championship, and the man still remains one of the world's best-known and most-beloved motorcycle racers. He spends a lot of time fishing and enjoying the company of his two dogs these days, but he's still imparting heaping helpings of insight about going fast on a motorcycle. Harley-Davidson Factory Racing's Kyle Wyman leads the Mission King Of The Baggers Championship heading into this weekend's final round of the series at New Jersey Motorsports Park. Wyman leads S&S/Indian Motorcycle's Troy Herfoss by just two points with the two races at Wyman's home track of NJMP left to run. Australian Troy Herfoss will arrive at New Jersey Motorsports Park next week two points behind Kyle Wyman in their battle for the 2024 Mission King Of The Baggers Championship. Two points basically equals winner-take-all. For the umpteenth time this season, Herfoss will have to learn a new track in the first practice session, get up to speed, and ready himself and his S&S/Indian Motorcycle's Challenger for two races that will determine the outcome of the championship. Rahal Ducati Moto's PJ Jacobsen rolls into this weekend's penultimate round of the MotoAmerica Supersport Championship trailing his season-long rival Mathew Scholtz by 25 points. To have any real chance of taking the title, Jacobsen probably needs to win all four of the remaining races, including this week's two races at Circuit of The America. We caught up with Jacobsen prior to the start of the weekend to chat about the title chase, his first season with the Rahal team, his two dynamic passes in Supersport racing at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, and more on this week's episode of Off Track With Carruthers And Bice.

Strack Racing's Mathew Scholtz heads to Circuit of The Americas in Austin Texas, next week with a 25-point lead in the 2024 MotoAmerica Supersport Championship. Left without a ride when the Westby Racing Superbike team folded at the end of last season, Scholtz took a step back to race in the Supersport class. And  it's worked to perfection. The South African, who now calls Georgia home, has won seven races and has stood on the podium in 13 of 14 races. He's also had some battles royale with his rival in the title chase, PJ Jacobsen. We caught up with Scholtz prior to the final two rounds of the title chase to talk about his season, the rivalry with Jacobsen, his past, and his future on this week's episode of Off Track With Carruthers And Bice.
