MP on the Mic

It’s Monday in RVA and Michael Phillips wants to draw everyone’s gaze towards the VCU Rams Basketball as they celebrate their first win. MP plays a clip from the most recent University of Kansas (his Alma Mater!) victory over Oklahoma this weekend. The JMU Dukes continue to impress and UVA is putting in some quality work this season!

As we finish up our first hour, we tackle the rest of the teams in the NFL (think we’re done talking about the Commanders? Well…for now). We hear from Taylor Heinicke and Arthur Smith as well as the final call from the Denver Broncos’ victory!

We’re back and MP has to bring some attention to Washington’s loss and the factors and conditions surrounding it. We hear interviews from McLaurin, Robinson, and St. Juste on the current situation with the Commanders.

Michael was able to clutch an interview with Howard and Colin Gutman of the Fan Sports Radio’s very own Gut Check! MP and the guys get into the specific details postgame on the Commanders stats, decision-making, and draft picks. We play the clip that was recorded from DC!

Not another Misery Monday! Hey - it’s not the end of the world, folks, because we get to spend Monday morning with MP on the Mic and JC on the Board! Michael clearly has to address the Commanders’ loss to the New York Giants this weekend. He’s mad about the way they lost and he has every right to be!

MP is going to close out today’s program and end the week on a hopeful and positive note. We’re going to hear one more clip from Head Coach, Brent Pry and take a little walk around Virginia’s Universities to explore the possible victories that we may well experience!

MP is still out at the Henrico Sports and Events Center in Glen Allen and he is lucky enough to get an interview with VCU Lady Rams Head Coach, Beth O’Boyle! She and Michael discuss the ins and outs of coaching such a solid club of phenomenal female athletes.

MP and Jc were joined by the Czar, Gary Hess in the studio and we’re going to take a listen again to that conversation concerning local sports in and around RVA!

This is an identical segment to our show open at 10am!

We’re back and MP is live from the Henrico Sports and Events Center with Dennis Bickmeier, Executive Director of this newly-formed Sports Association! He runs Michael through some numbers regarding the size of the center as well as the size of events that this new building is capable of housing.
