"It was a beautiful reminder that God prompts us to do different things. He may nudge us in a specific direction. We should really work on trusting the Holy Spirit when He speaks.

 

God is in control. He saw the end and he saw the beginning and he said you were worth it. It’s hard for us to understand that because we see time in a linear progression, but God is outside of time. The best way I can explain it is that he is all powerful, and even if we can’t understand his holiness and his majesty we can understand that our faith is sufficient.

 

Give Him thanks, at all times. Listen to when He speaks. Pray often. It will change your life."

"Don’t work as if you’re only working to afford these nice things Do not spend every waking hour working to then spend your money on the IG aesthetic home. Don’t work so hard on posting the perfect picture looking for the algorithm to applaud you. This verse is talking about Food that spoils, but that doesn’t mean all things that spoil are tangible. It could be the vanity we seek, the attention we need.

 

Instead let’s focus on food that endures eternal life. Jesus has given us the spirit. The fruit of the spirit is simple, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

 

Let’s focus on that today. Let’s focus on the joy of the Lord. Let’s focus on peace. Let’s work towards kindness. Let’s be good to one another.

 

Let’s fix our eyes on the eternal."

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of Matthew 7:4 which says "How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?"

"We love to call out the flaws in others. We don’t mean to do it, but in our destructive nature we do. We can ridicule why others may have reacted to a situation in a way you promise yourself you wouldn’t. We have so many assumptions of others.

 

The only thing I want to focus on today is removing the planks in my eye.

 

I pray we take the time to asses what it is that we are doing that may be out of line with the will of God. Let’s look at how we react to situations. Let’s look at the grace we give. Let’s look at the kindness we extend.

 

Are we using the fruit of the spirit? Are we being gentle, kind, and joyful. Are we practicing our gifts of faith, wisdom, and healing. We should be operating from a place of righteousness not from a place of judgement.

 

Our take away today is to do a self assessment and challenge ourselves to correct our wrongs and remove our planks. "

Join me, Alison Elizabeth as we read out of Hebrews 11:6 which says "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him."

"I wanted to share a quick devotional on faith. We must believe that God is who he says that he is. We must come to him with the faith that what we seek will be given to us.

 

I know that in different seasons, we may hold onto our faith differently. I know that some seasons may even drive the faith away. We must remember that without faith it is impossible to please God, because we must come to him in a posture of surrender. We must come to Him with our hearts open ready to share our gratitude and needs.

 

The good thing about this is that although he is asking for faith, he has also mentioned that all it takes is a mustard seed of faith.

 

All you need is the tiniest bit of faith to make your needs known to Him. So whether you a praying for a sick loved one, or a personal need, make time today to rest in His presence and bring your faith to Him."

"Many of us have been lying around in the same condition for years. Same desire to change, no proof of growth. Same desire to get healthy, to get financial secure, to take a leap of faith, to start that business, to join that community, and yes here we are lying here for a long time.

 

I love that Jesus asked the man, Do you want to get well?

 

It’s a reminder that God will do it. He will give you the strength to start the business, he will give you the strength to get in a new routine, he will give you the way when you see no way, but he is going to ask you first.

 

Do you want to get well.

 

Do you want it?

 

Remind yourself today that He is asking you if you want to change, if you want to grow. He will give you the way, but he is asking you to take the first step. "

"I went to bed last night and my room looked like a hurricane ran through it. I know that when I am disorganized, my life is disorganized so I will be spending time today reorganizing myself and getting ready for this new season.

 

I know that my room is a direct reflection of what’s going on in my head. The same can be said about you. If your life isn’t in order, it’s probably because your thoughts aren’t either. That’s okay, you aren’t alone in that.

 

I don’t think we are meant to have it all figured out, but I do believe if we are diligent in our ways, we will be richly supplied."

"When I read this verse I saw this story paint in my head. Sometimes what we plan and what we get are two entirely different things, but I guess, every time we do actually get what we want. Let me explain.

 

I was in a season praying for a boyfriend for many years. I wanted a man to walk into my life and change it. I waited patiently and was blessed with the most incredible person, but in that time of waiting I didn’t get what I wanted but I did at the same time. I was asking for a boyfriend, but really want I wanted was companionship. God surrounded me with the closest of friends and the most inspiring circle of people in my connect group at the time.

 

He did give me exactly what I needed, people to share my life with, it just wasn’t packaged the way I wanted.

 

I can almost guarantee He is meeting your every demand right now, it might just not be packaged the way you had planned. Pull back the layers of your life, and look for the things you want most and try to find ways in which he is providing exactly that."

"My dreams are about to come true. I share this because, it’s been my dream to open a bakery. Last year, when I was going through some health struggles which didn’t allow me to stand for long periods of time, and when I outgrew my kitchen, and when the pandemic hit, I had to take a step back from my baking business and re-strategize.

 

I launched this podcast, and this community grew. This timing is no coincidence. It’s all God’s timing.

 

So if my story can do anything, it can prove that God is faithful. He knows the desires of your heart. Sometimes He will ask you to detour from your plans, and all He is asking is for your trust.

 

This community isn’t going anywhere, no matter how long my to-do list gets, prayer will always be first. Let me encourage you, pray first. Make it a priority. Listen to when he nudges you. He will surpass your wildest imagination. He is a good good father. "

"People fail us everyday. There are things that are said in the midst of an argument and you wish you can take them back but the reality is that they can never be taken back. We can sometimes partake in activities that cause division among our relationships.

 

We can sometimes hurt one another. Be at war with one another, misunderstand one another.

 
The truth is that we are all human, and we seek deep connections with each other. There is nothing wrong with this. We were created to live in community. But when we realize that the ultimate comforter is Jesus and His unfailing love, even when we are devastated by the actions of our friends and family, we know that we are imperfect, and failure, destruction, it’s in our nature.

 

The one true comforter comes from above, He resides within. When we learn to lean on Him even through the most challenging seasons, we will be all the stronger because of it."
