Good Shout’s latest research found that women are worried about being seen as “too confident” in the workplace and that they’re shrinking themselves in order to be liked. Amy is also a TedX speak and author of The Little Girls Who Gave Zero Fucks.

Amy talks to me about the research, why women are most concerned about being unlikeable to other women and the confidence boosting tip she uses every day.

You might remember Holly from Byker Grove or Waterloo Road, but she’s since carved out a completely new path, turning the toughest period of her life - losing her husband Ross to brain cancer in 2017 - into a mission to help others rebuild after tough times.

We talk about Holly's early career, the reality of solo parenting two girls, and the mindset tools she now swears by. We also chat about her ADHD diagnosis and how she approaches body image as a mum.

Alice Stapleton is a career coach who specialises in helping people navigate career transitions and achieving their career goals in life. We’re also joined by someone who has made the switch into a career in Early Years - Daisy Tucker, Childminder at Daisy's Ducklings Childminding on the Isle of Wight.

We discuss what inspired Daisy to switch into an Early Years career, how rewarding she finds her job and how brilliantly it fit around being a mum.

Alice talks about how to address any fears you may have, around switching careers, and why September is the perfect time to consider a new role.

I’m joined on this episode by the Secretary of State for Education, Bridget Phillipson. In her position in the cabinet, Bridget oversees the Department for Education so is well placed to talk about childcare and early years, and all things school related.

Bridget is also a mum of two so I’m sure she knows what it’s like to navigate all the challenges motherhood brings.

Bridget tells me how her working class upbringing in a single parent household has impacted the decisions she makes in her job.

We also cover the new 30 hours funded childcare offering, new school based nurseries, free breakfast clubs, SEND provision, school attendance and smartphone policies.

Plus she tells me what it was like to be an extra on Byker Grove in the 90s.
