Southwestern Energy announced the potential sell of their Fayetteville Shale assets early this year. With declining natural gas prices who would be interested in the Fayetteville Shale? What’s the future hold for the Fayetteville and other dry gas plays? 

Do y’all have any concrete examples/case studies of a turnaround in safety performance and culture by changing management in the safety department? 

I am a petroleum engineering major at A&M and will be having my second internship this Summer in New Mexico focusing on the Delaware Basin. For all of the young’n’s listening as well, would y’all mind offering some advice to have a successful internship and land a return offer?

I’m a first-time listener to your recent podcast where you do a Q&A session. I loved it and would like to seek advice from two veterans of podcasts on how to go about starting my own podcast. I’m passionate about the environment (in particular, water resources) and would like to start a podcast on this industry with influences from engineering (my degree is in water and environmental engineering).

First off, great show. Started listening over a year ago while still at Montana Tech. It made it easier being connected to the industry while in such a non-industry area. Butte, great for outdoors and scenery, horrible for hands on oil and gas. Now, living in Houston, I have a new perspective of your show, what with being in the heart of it all.

Questions:

What is your take on the recent success of the Utah lease sale?

Thanks for hosting such a great show and helping young geologists such as myself Lear about other aspects of the industry I have not been exposed to yet! My question is; with China constructing these artificial islands in the South China Sea and attempting to take control of more maritime land, do you think this is partly motivated by prospective oil and gas prospects in the South China Sea and how do you think this will affect exploration efforts in the area? 

What do you think the next year holds for the SCOOP? Continental and Gulfport are both down there, but I haven’t seen production data from very many wells. A couple years ago it seemed like the SCOOP and STACK plays were the up and coming darlings of US land, Density looks to have increased in the STACK but the SCOOP has been mostly quiet as far as I can tell. 

I am a chemical engineer working for an independent refiner and am concerned with how the public perception of the energy industry may affect the long-term viability of refining in the United States.

It seems like a lot of opposition to anything oil stems from an overly simplistic view that all things oil & gas are bad and should be opposed. I used to be part of the problem. When I was a freshman in college, I told a friend that I could never work for an oil company as it would be immoral. I thought this way until we visited a refinery as part of a class trip and realized how ignorant I was.

Do you have any suggestions on how to reach more people and make a strong connection?

Your 2018 predictions #1 cited a 1,700% increase in online supply chain searches. What is the source of that statistic?  A good friend sent me your podcast and it is great.

Mark how do you suggest I proceed to find a job in O&G near San Antonio? Is there a way to contact recruiters that can assess the best fit? I’m going to listen to those old podcasts you did early on…

Hey Mark and Jake, love the show and have been a listener all through school. I have now graduated and am working as a Landman apprentice. Here is my question, there has to be a better way to assemble Abstracts. It takes tons of time, and I just feel as things are picking up on land there has to be a better way.

Hello. I am a huge fan of the show! I am actually not in the oil and gas industry but I was wondering how you think the recent shale gas and oil boom in Ohio from the Marcellus and Utica shale formations will impact the state over the next 20-30 years? Can Ohio become the “Texas of the 21st Century”? Do you have any data on how much shale gas is actually in Ohio and how many years of consumption are still in the ground? I’ve read some conflicting data online so I wasn’t sure if you have some definitive answers on that. Finally, in terms of baseball, what inning is the shale gas revolution in the U.S. and Ohio currently in at the moment?

When do you expect the CDL driver demand to increase in Eagle Ford area like the Permian area? 

There is a new trend of local Permian frac sand mining that is growing out her in the Permian. From what I have been told the locally mined sand is 60% cheaper in than the imported sand that is tradiationaly be used. How do y’all think these companies will do in the market and how will these companies with the massive discount economically effect the profitablty of oil and gas in the coming month/quarter/year and so on? The largest company is called Hi-Crush partners LPP.
