So many people are caught up in outrage culture, anger and fear following the results of the 2016 election and are hurling this around as though it’s going to do something to change the situation. It’s time for this to end. This week I interview Sarah Paquette, assistant and undergrad student to Peter Boghossian in Portland, Oregon, about why outrage is not only not changing anyone in the opposition, but is actually making things so much worse and exactly what we can do to change that. We also talk about the new Atheos app, which is designed to use the Socratic method to teach rational, respectful discourse that actually results in changing minds.
