The Philadelphia Phillies fell to the San Francisco Giants, 3-2 on a night that featured a WHOLE LOT OF AWFUL!

Phillies bats when 0-for-6 in the game and are now 0-for-their-last-24 overall. The only run they squeezed out came on a wild pitch in the 5th inning that allowed Bryson Stott to score from third.  

Orion Kerkering pitched the 8th with the score tied at one. He gave up a hit, hit two batters and was charged for two runs that were the difference in the game. Throw Kerkering was wild, home plate umpire Phil Cuzzi had one of the worst nights in recent memory calling balls and strikes.  

Cuzzi called several pitches, well outside the zone, STRIKES. Bryce Harper seemed to be a favorite target of Cuzzi's to call pitches against. Then with Kekerking on the mound, Cuzzi called three straight pitches inside the zone, BALLS! Each one would have been for strike three. Instead, a full count and a base hit.    

All that awful goes into wasting  Cristopher Sanchez great start. Sanchy got no decision despite throwing seven innings of one-run baseball. Sanchez struck out 8 all by way of the change-up. He also allowed seven hits and issued just one walk, his first in a month.
