The Philadelphia Phillies have lost seven-of-their-last-eight after falling to the Pirates, 5-4 in walkoff fashion.  

 

Jordan Roman again took the ball in the 9th inning. Three batters later, the bases were loaded with no outs and the score tied at four. After striking out ONeil Cruz, Nick Gonzales stepped to the plate and hit the game-winning sac fly to left field.  

 

Trea Turner continues to swing a hot bat. The Phillies’ shortstop went 3-for-5 with two RBIs.  

 

As a team, the Phillies went 3-12 with runners in scoring position.  

 

Bryce Harper missed the game with a wrist injury.  

 

The Phillies went with a bullpen game for this one. Joe Ross opened things up and threw two innings allowing one run on three hits. Then Tanner Banks took over and tossed one inning also allowing a run. Then 27-year-old Alan Rangel made his big league debut and allowed two runs on three hits.
