The Philadelphia Phillies fall to the Toronto Blue Jays, 2-1 thanks to a quite night from the bats and a meatball from Jordan Romano!  

 

Phillies starter Mick Abel was impressive in his second big league start. He tossed 5.1 innings allowing one run on three hits and no walks. His night was done after allowing an RBI triple to Bo Bichette to left center field that Brandon Marsh just missed.  

 

The Orion Kerkering took over in the 6th with one out and was able to hold Bichette at third. After Kerkering Matt Strahm and Tanner Banks combined for 6 straight outs.

 

The problem, however, was that the Phillies bats went ICE COLD. Just five hits in the game and they were unable to produce a run from a bases loaded one out situation in the 5th. Bryce Stott and Trea Turner popped out to end that threat.  

 

Then with the score still tied at one in the 9th, former Blue Jay Jordan Romano came on in relief and surrendered the walk off RBI single to his former catcher Alejandro Kirk.    

 

Phillies and Blue Jays back at it Thursday afternoon at 3:07. Jesus Luzardo takes on Chris Bassitt.
