The Philadelphia Phillies fall to the Washington Nationals, 5-4 thanks to a 9th inning IMPLOSION!  

Jhoan Duran came in to pitch the 9th and for the third time this season and first time as a Phillie, he blew a save. He’d give up a one-out double, then an RBI single to Daylen Lile. Lile took 2nd base on a throw home from Brandon Marsh trying to get the tying run at the plate. Lile then took off for 3rd base with one out. J.T. Realmuto, who gave the Phillies a 4-3 lead in the 7th, then gave the lead back to the Nationals by sailing a throw into left field allowing Lile to come home and score the game winning run.  

Taijuan Walker started for the Phillies and AGAIN for a eighth straight start gave his chance to win. He tossed five innings, allowing three runs. All three runs came in the first inning on a three-run homer by the Nationals’ Catchers Riley Adams.  

The Phillies offense would pick up Walker after that. Trea Turner brought in Nick Castellanos from third by beating out a double-play ball in the 2nd. Then in the 6th, Bryson Stott tied things up at three with a two-run homer.
