Cristopher Sanchez tossed 6.1 innings of 1-run baseball as the Philadelphia Phillies beat the St. Louis Cardinals 4-1.  

Sanchez allowed 8 hits and issued 2 walks over his outing but was able to induce 4 double play balls to get out of major trouble through the game as well as a bases loaded jam in the 3rd. He picks up his first win of the season.  

Nick Castellanos proved Sanchez with some early run support, smacking a 2-run double to left to get the Phillies on the board. His first of three hits on the afternoon. Bryson Stott added to the Phillies lead in the 5th inning with an RBI double to right scoring Brandon Marsh, followed by a Trea Turner RBI single in the 7th that brought home Alec Bohm. Bohm broke his 0-for-20 slump with a well-placed grounder to short that was too far in the whole for anyone to make a play on Bohm at first.  

The win gets the Phillies off the short schneid as they dropped back-to-back games heading into today’s action.
