Zack Wheeler and Nick Castellanos lead the Phillies to 8-4 win over the Tampa Bay Rays!  

 

Wheeler tossed seven innings of two-run baseball striking out nine, allowing four hits and no walks. He picks up his third win of the season. All but one of his K’s came on fastballs. His last strike out of the night came on a curveball as he fanned Kameron Misner in the 7th inning.  

 

The Phillies put together a three-run 2nd inning thanks to a solo homer from Kyler Schwarber, his 12th and a two-run shot by Alec Bohm, his first homer of the season. Their bats would say quiet until the 8th when Schwarber plated Trea Turner with a bloop single to right and Nick Castellanos got in on the power display with a three-run homer to right field. All three homers hit by the Phillies in the win went to opposite field. Castellanos added another RBI in the 9th with an RBI single.  

 

Phillies and Rays are back at it Wednesday night at 7:05, Cristopher Sanchez takes on Shane Baz.
