Aaron Nola and Ranger Suarez combined to pitch seven-scoreless, while Kyle Schwarber hit two homers as the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Los Angeles Dodgers, 8-2!  

 

Aaron Nola opened things up for the Phillies getting through two scoreless innings allowing just two base runners. Then Ranger Suarez took over in the 3rd inning. The lefty allowed a homer to Tommy Edman on the first pitch he threw then settled in to toss four scoreless innings after that.

 

The Phillies offense picked up in the top of the 4th inning with Kyle Schwarber BLASTED a 455ft home run to right left center filed that bounced off the overhang beyond the bleachers in right field.  The Phillies went on to add two more runs in the inning on an Alec Bohm single and throwing error that allowed Bryce Harper to score. Then Brandon Marsh came up with a sac fly RBI to left.  

 

The surge helped run Dodgers starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto after allowing three runs on six hits over just four-plus innings of work.  

 

In the 8th, Philly put up a five spot! JT Realmuto started off the inning with a solo homer to left/center off Klayton Kershaw. Then Trea Turner plated two with a single to right. And as fate would have it, the man who started the Phillies scoring, also capped it off. Kyle Schwarber hit his second homer of the game with a solo homer to right.  

 

Kershaw allowed four runs on five hits over two innings.
