Zack Wheeler tossed eight-scoreless as the Philadelphia Phillies beat the San Diego Padres 4-0.  

 

Bryson Stott was sure to get his starter some run support, unlike Wheeler's last start. Stott brough Max Kepler home from third on a high bouncer to second base in the 2nd inning. Then Stott made a great heads up play in the 4th. Brandon Marsh stepped to the plate in the 4th inning with Stott on second base. Marsh hit a grounder to first, but Padres' pitcher Matt Waldron was late to cover the bag. Stott recognized the chaos caused by Waldron missplay and came around to score from second.  

 

Nick Castellanos added a run in the 5th with a solo homer to left, his 10th of the season.  

 

Bryce Harper returned from a four week absence with a wrist injury. He walked to the plate in the 1st inning to a standing ovation, then went 0-for-2 with a walk and a HBP. He was hit in the foot by a curveball.
