Grant started his investing career with limited knowledge, very little money and one single family rental in 2014. He quit his 24-year career job as a construction worker to take a pay cut to get into full time property management where he has managed over 800 units and done over 100 rehabs. He now teaches people how to buy their first small apartment complex in the next 60 days through his online course the Apartment Buying Blueprint. He share’s hands on tips inside his own apartment buildings, teaching people what to do when they own a building and how to manage rehabs. He personally owns and self-manages with his wife, Monika, their 41-unit portfolio and was part of a team that recently syndicated 98 units in Alabama.

From software start-up founder to CEO of Black Swan Real Estate, Nick Stageberg has always been an entrepreneur at heart. Nick developed an interest in real estate investment at the age of 14 when he needed to secure safe housing due to family health issues. With no parental support, no income, and no job, he bargained with some family friends to clean out and rehab their basement in exchange for free housing. After college, he designed and built a custom home in Edmond, OK, and house-hacked by renting out rooms to former college roommates, all of whom are lifelong friends to this day. He is now the owner of a multi-million dollar real estate portfolio. Nick now works with Keller Williams Premier Realty-Rochester to represent Black Swan Real Estate, other investors, and home buyers/sellers in real estate transactions. When he’s not speaking at real estate conferences, he oversees all of our day-to-day operations, including project sourcing and representation, rehab and contractor management, property and resident management, and financial management.
