In this episode, Todd talks with Travis Watts about how he vets syndication sponsors, deals, and markets, and how he went from a W2 employee to a passive investor.
Travis is the Director of Investor Relations at Ashcroft Capital. He is an investor and leader in the real estate industry. He has been investing in real estate since 2009 in multi-family, single-family and vacation rentals. Travis began investing with Ashcroft Capital several years ago and has taken part in more than 30% of the Ashcroft opportunities. After experiencing above-average communication, reporting, deal volume and performance, Travis expressed interest in joining the Ashcroft Investor Relations Team. Travis also has a background in traditional Wall Street investing and obtained a Series 7 and Series 63 license while working at a major brokerage firm with more than 400 billion in assets. Travis now dedicates his time to educating others in the world of investing and has made it his mission to share passive investment strategies in order to help others achieve and maintain wealth in real estate.

Hamza is the founder of Gray Spear Capital, an asset management company focusing on commercial real estate. Hamza started real estate as a new immigrant and through his determination, resourcefulness, and strategy-mindedness was able to grow his own real estate company. His first deal after moving to the USA was a syndicated development deal. His current portfolio consists of 1000 apartments in Houston.
