In this episode, Todd talks with Victor Menasce about how he got into real estate development from scratch, and his principles of raising capital.

Victor began investing in real estate during the recession. This started locally in Canada, and moved quickly into the US markets as the opportunities for great investments presented themselves. This was a right-hand turn in his career after spending 25 years in the high-tech industry. His past roles include, Vice President of Engineering at Wavesat, a developer of chips for wireless networks, and Chief Technical Officer at Applied Micro Circuits Corporation, a Silicon Valley based public company that develops processors for use in numerous consumer products including televisions and gaming. He was founder and Chief Operating Officer at Somerset Technologies. He also held several senior roles in marketing and engineering with Tundra Semiconductor. He is the author of the new book “Magnetic Capital: How to raise all the money for ANY worthy venture.” He is an active real estate developer and he helps select clients scale their real estate investment businesses.

In this episode, Todd talks with Stash Geleszinski about how to build relationships with brokers to be taken seriously and get off-market deals.

Finding the top deals in your market takes time and patience. Building strong broker relationships is a key ingredient and our guest today walks us through the steps to doing just that. Stasiu Geleszinski is a commercial broker with Capstone Apartment Partners who specializes in multi-family transactions. Stasiu Geleszinski, or “Stash” as those in the industry know him, acts as the managing director of Capstone’s Cincinnati office. He has led the team through many types of transactions, including multi-family investment sales (conventional, affordable, and student housing), as well as development site sales throughout the Midwest. He has been involved in the analysis, underwriting, asset management, syndication and disposition of thousands of apartment units worth more than $100M, and represented clients from across the world.

In this episode, Todd talks with Vikram Raya about using your own network to raise money, asset management, and building relationships with real estate brokers.

Vikram is the co-founder and managing partner of Viking Capital. He currently works as a cardiologist in the DC/VA/MD metroplex. Since 2011 he has been diversifying his interests and investing in real estate with advanced real estate investors in the commercial and residential markets.

Having done much of his medical/real estate training in both Atlanta and DC, he is well aware of the intricacies of both these markets. He is also the co-founder of DARE capital, a multi-million dollar real-estate company with assets in GA consisting of single family and commercial properties. Vikram’s interests and strengths lie with investor negotiations, market trends, and portfolio diversification. Vikram and his team are members of the DC Real Estate Investment Association and Atlanta Real Estate Investment Associations.
