One of the most requested questions I've been receiving lately during the #pbnprevamp Challenge is needing inspiration for easy and filling plantbased, not perfect lunch options. In this episode, I share how I plan and prepare lunch ideas for the week, along with tons of savory and sweet lunch ideas to give you inspiration and motivation while basing your meals around real whole plantbased foods that will give you energy, instead of relying on to-go or packaged foods that cost more money and lead to a mid-day slump. I also share some grocery shopping hacks I have picked up over the years to get a healthy plantbased lunch at some of our favorite stores without spending $30 at the hot bar.

On today's podcast episode I thought it would be fun to cover the wellness trends I want us to leave behind in 2020. As we enter a new year, and might be kicking it off with the pbnp revamp challenge we have a new opportunity to shed some of our antiquated beliefs and fads we might have tried in the past. I am focusing on: Restrictive Diets, Calorie Counting & Cleanses/Detoxes, with studies and research to help better comprehend why these trends aren't sustainable, as well as giving my personal tips to approach these topics in a healthier way in 2021.

Today's episode is the long-awaited animal protein episode and whether it is health promoting or harmful. We cover the major studies between animal protein and cancer, heart disease, Diabetes Type 2 and all cause mortality, as well as how protein is created and reacts within our bodies. I answer the common question: how do you get protein on a plantbased diet? and break down how much protein we actually need in a day, where we can easily get it from plantbased sources and how much protein plant foods have in them so you can set yourself up for success on a plantbased diet.
We look to The Blue Zones and the longest living people around the world to study how much of their diets rely on animal protein and what diet is best for longevity. From protein powders, to the keto diet and whether mock meats are healthier than real meat - I dive into all of the questions that naturally arise when discussing animal protein and plantbased lifestyles. I hope you love this episode, learn something new and it encourages you along your #plantbasednotperfect path.

I just finished the Melissa Wood Health 14 day challenge and am feeling calm, motivated and committed to moving EVERY single day through the holiday season. On today's episode I share my takeaways from the #MWHMethod challenge, personal results and overall thoughts on why low intensity type workouts can have SUCH a positive impact on our bodies and our minds. I hope this episode inspires and motivates you through the holidays and beyond.
I answer all of your MWH questions from Instagram and get real on everything from: how often I workout, for how long, how many times a week, do I add cardio, do MWH workouts lift your booty - and much more. I know it can be hard to believe low intensity workouts can have as much effect on our bodies as higher intensity workouts but they can, and when coupled with a plantbasednotperfect diet, they can be FIRE.
We get into why you might be killing yourself at the gym while cutting calories and not seeing results, so you can learn how to adjust your workouts to see optimal results. I also share the research on how yoga-type workouts can boost and sustain weight loss.
