Fusion Voting could be introduced in Wisconsin. Joining Steve and Kristin remotely were attorneys Jeff Mandell and John Franke to answer questions on what fusion voting was.

WTMJ hosts Steve Scaffidi and Kristin Brey were joined in-studio by WISN Channel 12 political reporter Matt Smith, and they began by discussing the detainment of Milwaukee County judge Hannah Dugan for obstruction of justice. A clip from attorney Dan Adams was played from Smith’s show UpFront was played for the legal perspective of the detainment; they all discussed.

-A clip from Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers, also from UpFront, was played about his thoughts on the ICE raids like those at the Milwaukee County Courthouse as it pertained to Judge Dugan’s arrest. They talked about his thoughts and the political party divide on this incident.

-Speaking of Governor Evers, another clip from him was played about his thoughts on re-election, he simply responded with waiting for the budget to pass before he decided. Steve, Kristin and Matt discussed.

-Next, Steve and Kristin asked Matt about the state and future of the Wisconsin State Budget as well as the State Senate voting for Maternal care and how it would do in the State Assembly especially with Assembly Speaker Robin Vos.

-A clip from the Last Minute from CBS News’ 60 Minutes was played where Scott Pelly talked about the departure of their long-time executive producer Bill Owens over the loss of honesty in independent journalism. Steve and Kristin asked Matt about how this could affect the state of journalism in the future during U.S. President Donald Trump’s second term in office.

Annex Wealth Management CEO Dave Spano joined Steve and Kristin remotely to begin talking about the markets slowly recovering lately, the ongoing trade tension between the U.S. and China and how it all could affect the election going on in Canada that day.

-Next, they asked Dave about expiring tax cuts in the federal government and more.

Former Milwaukee County Judge Mary Kuhnmuench joined Steve and Kristin next to talk more about her former colleague Judge Dugan’s detainment at the hands of the FBI; she explained what she knew about her as a judge and how it may have affected her arrest.

-They then asked Judge Mary if the arrest was justified.

-CLOSING ARGUMENTS: Mary talked more about the Judge Dugan situation and being a judge and not an advocate.

WTMJ host Steve Scaffidi was broadcasting remotely from Green Bay for the NFL Draft and co-host Kristin Brey was joined in-studio by Democratic strategist Joe Zepecki and Republican strategist Bill McCoshen. They talked a little about what the draft meant for Wisconsin. They also talked about the recent breaking news of Milwaukee County Judge Hannah Dugan getting arrested by the FBI.

-They next discussed Russia’s latest intense strikes on the Ukrainian capital Kyiv and U.S. President Donald Trump’s response.

-They briefly discussed Trump softening his tone on tariffs on China and Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell.

They next talked about Florida Governor Ron DeSantis' latest initiative to get teenagers to work in his state.

Steve and Kristin discussed the U.S. Supreme Court taking up a case from Maryland that could let families opt their children out of reading LGBTQ books.

Meanwhile, the Navy canceled a speaking appearance from podcaster Ryan Holiday where he planned on talking about banned books, including those banned by the military; Steve and Kristin discussed this as well.

To close off the show, Steve and Kristin discussed a study that said old age brings better quality of life.

It was the first day of the 2025 National Football League Draft; Steve and Kristin briefly discussed.

10:12 – The average age of United States Senators is old but U.S. Senator from Illinois Dick Durbin announced his retirement at the age of 80 as well as U.S. Representative from Illinois Jan Schakowsky. Democratic Party Vice Chair David Hogg raised money for a fund to primary other older Democrats; a clip of his thoughts was played.

-They continued the conversation and debated Hogg’s methods and how old is too old for politicians.

-They then discussed what exactly the future of the Democratic party could look like.

A strategy to help get Democrats back in the spotlight was entering decentralized media landscape like podcasts. That was exactly what Pete Buttigieg did. Wisconsin Assembly Speaker Robin Vos drafted a budget...with no numbers. Steve ranted about it.

Some Republicans want to raise taxes on billionaires to “own the libs”. Steve and Kristin discussed if they would actually go through with it and get other Republicans to go along with it.

Steve and Kristin talked about the issues facing Social Security.

-To go more in-depth on the issue, they were joined by former Social Security Administration Commissioner and former Baltimore, Maryland mayor Martin O’Malley who told them what was at stake.

Kristin and Steve discussed U.S. President Donald Trump’s “Baby Boom Agenda” that would incentivize American families having more babies but, as Kristin pointed out, not supporting paid childcare.

The Wisconsin State Legislature did something right! The Republican-controlled State Senate voted 32 to 1 to pass postpartum Medicaid expansion. They talk about that one State Senator that did not vote for it, Chris Kapenga from Delafield.

They finished the hour by talking about their podcast “You Need to Listen”.

Steve and Kristin were next joined in-studio by Urban Milwaukee President Jeramey Jannene to first talk about property values rising in Milwaukee and what it could mean.

-Milwaukee's latest newly inaugurated alderman Alex Brower, an open socialist, made a big stump speech after his inauguration that referenced Vladamir Lenin and Karl Marx and mentioned issues like education; Jeramey explained.

-Milwaukee was going all in on drones; Jeramey told Steve and Kristin how the Milwaukee Police Department was using them and the possible implications.

-The abandoned boat off of Milwaukee’s coast had some breaking news. Jeramey explained the background and Steve talked about how it expresses people’s fascination with the stupid.

WTMJ News reporter Adam Roberts joined Steve and Kristin for another update about the boat and Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson’s press conference near the site and the cinematic picture taken by fellow reporter Nazir Spencer.
