The 2024 Philadelphia Phillies are history, after losing Game 4 of their NLDS with the Mets, 4-1. Francisco Lindor smacked a GRANDSLAM off Carlos Estevez in the 6th inning and that was the difference in the ball game.  

Like three of the other four games in the series, the Phillies’ offense did them in as they managed just four hits in the ball game, two of them courtesy of Nick Castellanos.

The Phillies put runners on 2nd and 3rd with out in the 4th inning and were only able to squeeze one run from it, when an Alec Bohm grounder was bobbled and dropped by Mets’ 3rd Baseman Mark Vientos allowing Bryce Harper to score from 3rd. Then with Runners at the Corners with one out, J.T. Realmuto filed out to right and Bryson Stott flied out to center to end the threat.  

Phillies had another chance to score when Bryce Harper smacked a leadoff double to leadoff the 6th, but they failed to bring anyone home.    

Ranger Suarez started for the Phillies and managed to get out of jam after jam and record 4.1 scoreless innings. His line on th night included 5 hits, 4 walks and 8 strike outs.  

Rob Thomson went to the bullpen with one out in the 5th in favor of Jeff Hoffman. Hoffman got out of a two on, one out jam.  

Then the crushing blow in the 6th. Hoffman was taken out with one out and the bases loaded. Carlos Estevez came in to face Francisco Lindor. He threw the Met’s shortstop four fastballs. The fourth one, he hit 398ft for a Grand Slam.
