Last week, we looked at Unity in the Church, Is this Possible? We know that Jesus said that “with God, all things are possible” in Matthew 19:26, but often, we try to do things ourselves. When all of the church submits to Christ as their Head, there will be Unity.
Today, we will deal with a subject that seems on the surface to be diametrically opposed to Unity. I know that today’s message is an uncomfortable and potentially unwanted one. Even though all of us want others to be held accountable for their actions, not many want to be held accountable themselves. Take time this week to ponder 1 Corinthians 5:1-7.
Our message for today is titled: “Accountability to Build Up, Not Tear Down”
Even Pillars Need Accountability
You Decisions Have an Effect on Others
Don’t Have a “Holier Than Thou” Attitude
Christ Does Not Promote Sin

Should the upper echelon of any society be held accountable? Explain.
Why is it important to understand that our decisions affect others?
Do you have respect for those who project a “holier than thou” attitude? Explain.
If Christ-followers can sin without losing their salvation, does this mean that Jesus is okay with sin? Explain.
