thank you Daysy for sponsoring today's episode, i love you <3 i hope you girlies enjoyed learning about how i prevent pregnancy while not on hormonal birth control!
ladies, i also highly recommend having a fertility doula or educator that you work with in the beginning who can customize a natural fertility plan to you. i found an abortion doula that also does natural fertility planning and i will actually be working with her to even deepen my natural fertility practices soon. because i am fertile and i absolutely do not want to be pregnant at the moment- and if I did become pregnant i would not continue the pregnancy- it does feel like the stakes are high. having a support system and someone to personally guide you through it is invaluable because they have much more knowledge than we might have.
with birth control, as discussed in the podcast, it is important to understand that while yes- birth control is harmful to the body-, for many women it is less harmful than the pregnancy they might have should they be off of it. birth control is not the root of oppression, it is a symptom of it. we have been oppressed and as a result, we lost of natural connection to our bodies. coming from that space of disconnection, we have to be able to make the most empowering decisions for ourselves given our circumstances. if you desire to make birth control be obsolete- or at the very least not as common as it is now- start with the root by empowering women to begin healing our emotional and physical trauma, connecting to our bodies and our standards.
