Can the UN system be brought to serve the real interests of the global majority?
The Communist Party of China (CPC) is promoting an approach to international affairs that aims to put the principles of the UN charter into practice. What stands in the way of such a development is not the will of the peoples, but the rabid warmongering and endemic supremacism of the imperialist ruling classes. Given the USA’s vice-like grip over the UN, it remains to be seen whether that institution can possibly be reformed, or whether the emerging anti-imperialist world will find itself forced to simply set up new mechanisms and institutions elsewhere.

The U.S is recycling its old ideas again (remember the concocted idea of Operation Norwoods!) in order to attack Venezuela. No longer can it call Maduro an undemocratic dictator as it did through the early 2000s and so it has changed tactics. Maduro is now a drug kingpin and a designated terrorist with a bounty on his head. The US wants to invade Venezuela for its oil and to destroy the example it is presenting to the world that there in fact is a different route from capitalism; that route is called socialism.

Comrade Tushika Ranasinghe of the Janatha Vimukth Peramuna (JVP) delivered a powerful fraternal address honouring the October Revolution and outlining Sri Lanka's recent political transformation. He described the decades of corruption, ethnic divisions, and capitalist decay which culminated in the 2022 Aragalaya uprising. The JVP and its broad front, the NPP seized this historic moment and mobilised workers, women, peasants and the youth to win the presidency and parliamentary majority in 2024.

The liberation struggle of the Palestinian and middle-eastern peoples will continue until imperialism and its proxies have been defeated.
It is clear that the ‘Trump peace plan’ for Gaza is no more than terms for the complete surrender of the Palestinian resistance. What we are witnessing is therefore not an end to the genocide but a temporary pause as both sides regroup and the imperialists try to work out a way to regain their hegemony over a region that is fast slipping from their grasp.
