There is no such thing as a purely natural disaster, especially in a country under siege. Likewise, the response to any disaster is always mediated by social, political and even geopolitical factors.

Depending on where we live (in an oppressed country, a sovereign country or an imperialist one), anti-imperialists will need to approach the same strategic goal with different tactics.

From the Black Hundreds of revolutionary Russia to the Brownshirts of Nazi Germany, from Latin-American death squads and Ukrainian Banderites to Isis and al-Qaeda ‘jihadists’, terrorist proxy armies and militias have been a consistent tool of imperialist domination. In this era of the prolonged crisis and decay of global capitalism, such forces are a crucial component in the imperialist arsenal, deployed whenever brute force is needed to crush the rising struggle of working and oppressed peoples and to maintain the financiers’ grip on markets, raw materials and human labour-power.

Who are the real terrorists in the world today? How do we decide who is a terrorist and who is a freedom fighter?

Communist party leader and ANC armed wing commander Chris Hani was viewed by the South African masses as a freedom fighter, but branded by the apartheid government and its imperialist backers as a terrorist. Clearly, Marxists need to make a clear distinction between our rejection of the ‘terrorism’ label as applied by imperialism to its opponents, and our criticism of those individual acts of terror that are counterproductive to the cause of working-class and anti-imperialist liberation.

For decades, successive governments have implemented measures aimed at undermining public health provision and turning the nation’s health budget into a funding stream for private corporations. As a result, workers pay more every year while receiving less, services are dangerously understaffed, medical staff are chronically overworked, patients deteriorate and die on waiting lists, and those who can afford to do so are forced to turn to the private sector to obtain treatment.

Note to trade unionists: This text has been compiled to help you frame a motion on this topic to your union branch or annual congress. Feel free to take as much or as little as you deem suitable, depending on the rules operating in your organisation, and to choose from or adapt the final demands depending on the sector in which you work.

This statement was issued on 1 June by comrades of the New Communist Party of Yugoslavia (NKPJ).

We note that the promotion of fascism and the rewriting of the history of WW2 go hand in hand all over Europe, and especially in eastern Europe, where it is clear that the Nato imperialists are working hard to create more brainwashed and willing footsoldiers to throw into the frontlines of their war against Russia.

Why is the Serbian government allowing neo-nazis to gather from all over Europe, spreading lies and xenophobic filth that can only serve imperialist aims of division and war?

The new face of the imperialist Labour Party, Burnham, has made his first international trip Ukraine.

While faces might change and representatives will come and go, the line of the Labour Party is the line of the finance capitalists in the City of London. It is no surprise then that the warmongering line of Starmer has continued with Burnham, a man whose rise to power seems manufactured.

Burnham was not even an MP a month before his role of prime minister, but the doors were opened to allow him to quickly become an MP, become a candidate for the leadership of the Labour Party and eventually prime minister of the United Kingdom.

As our General Secretary Ranjeet Brar says in this RT interview:

"...you see just how lacking our country is in democracy."

This following paper was delivered to a meeting organised by the Alba Granada North Africa organisation in Tunis. The meeting was held to mark the 79th anniversary of the founding of the Syrian Arab Republic in April 1946.

Very few workers in the west are aware of the fact that Syria had maintained a sovereign and anti-imperialist government for nearly eight decades in the teeth of imperialist opposition and constant attempts to bring it down. Despite having to contend with zionist armies on its doorstep, a zionist occupation on its territory, and zionist spies and saboteurs infiltrating its society, the Syrian Arab Republic refused to normalise with zionist Israel and remained a steadfast friend to the cause of Palestine liberation and a reliable base for Palestinian resistance movements.

This week I spoke with Garland Nixon about the upcoming launch of a new antiwar organisation in Britain, one that has genuinely anti-imperialist politics at its core.

In my discussion with Garland we looked at the obscenity of allowing the party that runs the wars on behalf of British imperialism to also control and direct the ‘antiwar’ movement. This is at the heart of the abject and repeated failure of Stop the War in Britain and similar ‘official’ antiwar organisations in other imperialist countries to do anything to meaningfully impede the war machine, never mind to actually stop a single war.

Indeed, our ‘antiwar’ luminaries regularly and repeatedly stoke warmongering propaganda narratives against Russia, China, Iran and the DPRK, the cornerstones of world anti-imperialist resistance and the primary targets in the sights of the US/British/Nato war machine.

No wonder Iranian comrades in Britain have concluded that “There is no antiwar movement in this country.”
