In today's episode I interview Elyse Rooney of the Wholesome Mumma Podcast.
When it was discovered that her first born son's eczema was linked to their use of laundry soap, Elyse began her quest to detox her home. After her second child survived a life-threatening virus, Elyse found herself suffering from both PTSD and Postnatal Depression. Hear her story of God's healing that led to the creation of her brand, podcast and course where she beautifully combines her grief and gifts to help moms create simplified homes and low tox living so they can find joy in motherhood again.
Elyse is a wife and mum to 3 beautiful young children, living on the east coast of Australia.
As a new mum she felt lost and unmotivated with "keeping up with the Joneses" and the mentality that motherhood equaled a struggle. It was out of this overwhelm, that Elyse founded The Wholesome Mumma and created this space for women to be imperfect, present mums. With a passion for simplified homes and low tox living, Elyse is now helping mums to find their joy in motherhood again.
Here is Elyse's recipe for homemade laundry detergent:
2 Cups Baking Soda
2 Cups Super Washing Soda
1 Cup Fine Pink Salt
Mix all together and sprinkle in washing machine as water fills.
For stains she adds Sodium Percarbonate (like OxyClean).

Happy Saturday! In this episode you will be amazed at what you can achieve in just 5 minutes of decluttering! If you have already decluttered this area, move on to another spot or use this time to do your routine tidy up.
Set your prayer intention to turn mundane tasks into prayer.
Set your carrot. This is what I do when I have a chore I don't feel like doing. I save a good podcast to listen to or an audible book or I light that good candle while I do desk work. It's totally up to you.
Lastly, set your reward. Brew the coffee, steep the tea, bask in the sunshine, what is your reward for getting this task done?
Today we begin decluttering your wardrobe and we are beginning with all the things no one sees! Your lingerie! As with any part of your wardrobe, everything should fit, flatter, and make you feel fabulous. A proper bra fitting is essential! Step out into the world like the Queen Bee you are knowing you look and feel fabulous underneath!
Enjoy your Saturday! XOXO, Gina

Opening Bible verse: Philippians 4:19
In today's episode I share two stories with you about times when we just didn't have the money. That is...until God. God loves nothing more than to provide for us and our every need. Every household needs a budget and that episode is coming soon. Today, I want to lay the groundwork for your household budget. In today's episode you will learn to look back on the times God has provided for you so you can walk confidently into your next season knowing He will provide. A budget doesn't have to be restrictive or scary when you have full confidence in His plan. Manage what He gives you well, and He will shower more upon you!

When I have had multiple conversations about the same topic, I know it's time to talk about it here. With third quarter grades posted, many friends have confided in me the stress going on behind closed doors regarding grades. We want the best for our children and those fights about grades are coming from a place of love, right? I don't think so. I believe those fights, tears, bribes and whatever else is going on in your house is really coming from a place of fear. We get afraid for our kids that they won't succeed. We get afraid that they won't get into a good college. Fear not! Padre Pio tells us to pray, hope, don't worry. The Bible has 365 verses on not being afraid or to not be anxious. I think that's God's way of saying, "Hey, Mama, don't worry." Getting our kids through school with a 4.0 is not our job. We have one job as parents and we were given our marching orders at their Baptism. Hint: it has nothing to do with their grades. Tune in today to hear what is our job as parents and try not to worry.

Opening Bible verse: Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
In Genesis God said it was not good for man to be alone. Jesus had his huge followers of disciples, his smaller group of 12 apostles and his inner circle of Peter, James and John. Peter, James and John saw Jesus at his best (The Transfiguration) and at his worst (The Garden of Gethsemane). We too need our close friends to be by our side in good times and in bad.
Our circle of friends will probably change as we go through life. Some of these friends will easily find themselves in our lives while at other times, we need to put in a little more work to find friends.
In this episode, I talk about the different tribes I've had throughout my life and how I intentionally found them. I'll give you tips and tricks for finding your tribe in whatever season of life you find yourself.

In Biblical times, the size of your flock was an indication of your wealth. In Proverbs 27:23, God tells us to pay careful attention to our herds. How careful are you watching your money? All we have is not ours, it is ours to manage. How well are you managing your gifts? Your time? Your talent? Your treasure? When we show God that we can manage His gifts well, He will shower us with abundance.
In this episode, I give you one easy task to get you started on managing your money according to God's plan.

So you're here because you know you are called to more, but, what? Where do you even begin to know what God is calling you to do? "If I do discover what my calling is, can I make money doing it?"
In today's episode we are going to follow the breadcrumbs of God. He gave you gifts to be used. He does not want to keep your purpose a secret from you but, it is yours to discover. He is a gentleman and He wants you to go first. Many times we wonder why we experienced heartache, trauma, or grief. With God, all things can be used for good. So, I'm going to share with you how examining your grief is also a breadcrumb to what you are called to do. When you leave your talents buried, you are throwing the world off kilter. What if this was your Harper Lee year? What would you do with it? Learn how to combine your gifts and your grief to discover the gold that awaits!
The opening Bible verse is: 1 Peter 4:10-11

You've probably read the book, To Kill A Mockingbird. However, did you know Harper Lee was just like us? She had a huge obstacle standing between her and who God was calling her to be. Listen to today's episode to hear the story of how she pruned away that obstacle.
If God has placed it on your heart, it is already done. It's just yours for the taking. Don't worry about the "how", that's God's business. Just trust that your path will be cleared in the most amazing way.
This story will give you an idea of what you can expect on this podcast. Welcome and enjoy!
