In today's episode I interview Elyse Rooney of the Wholesome Mumma Podcast.
When it was discovered that her first born son's eczema was linked to their use of laundry soap, Elyse began her quest to detox her home. After her second child survived a life-threatening virus, Elyse found herself suffering from both PTSD and Postnatal Depression. Hear her story of God's healing that led to the creation of her brand, podcast and course where she beautifully combines her grief and gifts to help moms create simplified homes and low tox living so they can find joy in motherhood again.
Elyse is a wife and mum to 3 beautiful young children, living on the east coast of Australia.
As a new mum she felt lost and unmotivated with "keeping up with the Joneses" and the mentality that motherhood equaled a struggle. It was out of this overwhelm, that Elyse founded The Wholesome Mumma and created this space for women to be imperfect, present mums. With a passion for simplified homes and low tox living, Elyse is now helping mums to find their joy in motherhood again.
Here is Elyse's recipe for homemade laundry detergent:
2 Cups Baking Soda
2 Cups Super Washing Soda
1 Cup Fine Pink Salt
Mix all together and sprinkle in washing machine as water fills.
For stains she adds Sodium Percarbonate (like OxyClean).
