He emphasizes that key elements such as load management, appropriate dosing in rehabilitation, and overall capacity building through resistance training, cardiovascular exercise, nutrition, sleep, and stress management are critical for effective injury recovery. In contrast, "small rocks," which include manual therapy, dry needling, cupping, and various self-care techniques like braces and taping, play a lesser role in moving the needle in long-term rehabilitation.

Britt also discusses the evolution of our understanding of concussions, moving away from the traditional mechanical perspective of the brain being a "bruise" inside the skull to a more nuanced view.
