Today we sit down with Emmy Award Winning actress, singer, teacher, music therapist, philanthropist, and author - Patrice Covington. Before you ask, yes, girlfriend does all the things and does them all well.
Patrice just wrapped up filming National Geographic’s anthology series, Genius: Aretha. Where she brings to life the late Erma Franklin, an American Gospel singer, activist, and elder sister to Aretha Franklin played by Academy Award Nominated Cynthia Erivo. Patrice has toured the world with Jennifer Hudson, Christina Aguilera, and Stevie Wonder. She serves as a celebrity ambassador for Kids in the Spotlight, an organization empowering foster kids through filmmaking, and is the creator of The Galaxy Method, an aspiring artist teaching series using music as a healing agent.
In this candid conversation, Patrice shares the one thing she wished she learned earlier in her career as an artist. We talk about finding your light and using it to empower others. And why it's so important for artists to get out of their lane. She is a magical human with words of wisdom for any creative.

Today we chat with James Beard Award-nominated writer, Julia Bainbridge. Julia was formerly an editor at Bon Appétit, Yahoo, and Atlanta magazine, she has also worked at Condé Nast Traveler and Food & Wine. Her new book Good Drinks, about nonalcoholic cocktails, was released this fall, and it could not come to us at a more perfect time.
After building a career around why and how people gather, Bainbridge pivoted into why people don't, launching The Lonely Hour podcast to explore social disconnection and other forms of loneliness.
This conversation felt serendipitous in so many ways. After decades as freelance artists (her as a journalist, me as an actor) we sat down during a time of transition for us both. We talk about the importance of diversifying the portfolio of life and finding identity through the taboo.
As a professional dancer, Katie Webber grew up with a complicated relationship around food. After a lifetime of struggling with disordered eating ranging from binge eating, to withholding food, she finally found freedom when she let go of dieting and focused on pure, clean food. This practice of clean eating ignited her creativity in the kitchen.
When Broadway went dark, like so many artists, Katie recognized how much creative energy she had stuck inside her. After years of blogging her recipes, she knew a cookbook was the next logical step. In this conversation we learn how important it is to allow your creativity and passions to evolve, and the importance of giving yourself permission to explore.

Maria Failla is a "Plant Killer Turned Plant Lady" with a mission to help every person successfully care for a houseplant. After years of killing plants, Maria gave plantcare one last try when she moved in with her boyfriend in NYC. She started with a balcony herb garden, and once that thrived, slowly filled their 500 sq foot apartment with 120 houseplants and was forever changed. Maria is a fellow Broadway baby and in, probably my favorite conversation to date, we discuss how sometimes we don’t actually experience a lot of creativity in our creative passion pursuit. She shares openly how caring for plants led her to find her authentic voice, and allowed space for her creativity to evolve.
