Welcome to Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78RPM records of the 1920s and’30s.
Do you know what the word porcine means? Of, affecting or resembling a pig. In the case of this week’s edition of Rapidly Rotating Records, not just any pig, but America’s favorite pantless pig, Porky Pig. The last segment of the show celebrates the release by Warner Brothers Archive of a 5 DVD set of 101 Porky Pig cartoon shorts. I got mine and hope you’ll support restoration and preservation projects like this by getting your own copy and/or buying a set or sets as gifts. We’ll also take a musical trip to Spain, have an ice cold set, find out about who doesn’t like what and hear about the WPA (Works Progress Administration). Per usual, there are at least a couple of records making their RRR debut. If you enjoy the show, please let us know by leaving a comment on the website or the Facebook page or sending an email. And remember, your requests and topic segments are always welcome. As always, just click on the link below to instantly listen streaming online and/or download the show.
Enjoy the show!

This week, it’s another “One Thing In Common” edition of the show. We’ve got 15 very diverse records including one make in Helsinki, Finland in 1939, a record made in Paris and one of a Rachmaninoff tune, but all of the records on this show have one thing in common. You’ll find out at the end what that commonality is, but as a hint, it has nothing to do with the composers, artists, labels or dates, but everything to do with the song titles. Per usual, there are at least a couple of records making their RRR debut. If you enjoy the show, please let us know by leaving a comment on the website or the Facebook page or sending an email. Welcome to Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can't *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78RPM records of the 1920s and'30s.
Wecome to Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can't *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78RPM records of the 1920s and'30s.
On this week's edition of the show, we're going to start off by doing some stealing! Well, not really. That would be against the law. We will, however, be playing some rapidly rotating records about stealing, which is perfectly legal. Do you remember Mr. Whipple? If so, you'll enjoy the segment on "squeezing." Sometimes you just want to go off and hide, which is what we'll do in the third segment. And in the last two segments, we'll find out what I've got and what you've got. Per usual, there are at least a couple of records making their RRR debut. If you enjoy the show, please let us know by leaving a comment on the website or the Facebook page or sending an email. And remember, your requests and topic segments are always welcome.
I want to let you know in advance that the first record in the second segment of the show has a fairly awful, shrill and harsh sound, and I played it reluctantly. It's a fairly catchy tune, however, titled "A Little Squeeze" and I give some information about the National Music Lovers label on which it was issued. Please hear it out.
