Real Crime Profile

Lisa, Jim and Laura, sit down with a very special guest this week. In 2013, Lisa cast actress Jan Broberg on an episode of Criminal Minds, as a mother in despair that her son had been kidnapped. What Lisa didn’t know was that in real life, Jan herself had been kidnapped, not once, but TWICE by a close family friend. Years later, Jan would tell her incredible story in the Netflix documentary “Abducted in Plain Sight”. Jim and Laura break down this offender’s behavior and his grooming of not only Jan, but of her family and an entire community. Laura teaches Jan a very important term she had never heard of before regarding her own case...“coercive control”. You won’t want to miss this.

The RCP team analyzes the horrific story of Christopher Duntsch, a neurosurgeon whose arrogance and recklessness in the operating room left a trail of victims — patients who first came to him to alleviate their pain, ended up maimed and in some cases, dead.

Jim and Laura forensically deconstruct Duntsch’s behavior and the real motives behind his actions. Lisa wonders why Duntsch was able to get away with his botched surgeries for so long — when so many medical professionals and patients reported him.

The RCP team analyzes the shocking story of Dr. Farid Fata, a renowned oncologist who falsely diagnosed thousands of patients with cancer in order to receive millions of dollars in profit — administering treatments that they didn’t need, treatments that made them very sick and in some cases killed them.

Jim and Laura forensically deconstruct Fata’s behavior and the real motives behind his despicable actions.
