Interview with retired FBI Special Agent Myron Hitch Years of Service: 1964-1988 Myron began his career in law enforcement in 1964 with the FBI. Myron started in the Denver Division where he worked in general investigations before moving to the Chicago Division. In Chicago, Myron worked on investigations that included fugitive apprehension, civil rights cases, white slave trafficking cases, organized crime, and foreign counterintelligence cases. In 1967, Myron was transferred to the Los Angeles Division where he investigated cases including bank robberies, fugitives, kidnappings, extortion, and narcotics. During this time Myron also served on the Special Weapons and Tactics team better known as SWAT, and from 1979 to 1988 served as the SWAT Team Commander. In 1984, he was responsible for the planning of the FBI’s security measures for the 1984 Olympic games.
