Red Sox struggles continue against AL East teams and that showed as the Sox get swept by the Rays in 3 games. All three phases were sloppy in this series and those mistakes really hurt the Sox when it mattered. Things continue to get worse for this team as injuries continue to pile up but luckily some of their most reliable rotation arms are coming back for the series against the Yankees.
Massachusetts Pirates Team Insider Jake Ignaszewski breaks down the tough losses on Wednesday and Thursday and tries to find some positives about each game. On Thursday, Kutter Crawford had a masterful outing through six innings but things blew up in the 7th. Iggy gives insight on why Cora wanted to leave him out there and what went wrong in that inning for the Rays to score 5 runs to take the lead.
Iggy then looks at where this sweep puts the Red Sox in the Wild Card standings and explains why it's so important for the team to improve their performance against AL East team for the remainder of the season. Then Iggy shares some injury updates and previews the pitching matchups in the Yankees series.
Lastly, Iggy shares a mental health minute!
