The Red Sox evened up their series in Kansas City Saturday night with a 10-1 victory over the Royals at Kauffman Stadium.  The Red Sox collected 14 Hits (5 extra-base hits) and scored 3 runs in 3 different innings in the win. The Sox have won 3 of 4 and will go for the series win on Sunday. The Red Sox had 5 different hitters with multi-hit games.

Trevor Needed That: Trevor Story came to the plate in the 7th inning having struck out in each of his 1st 3 at-bats. Story delivered a huge 2-out, 3-run Home Run to put the Red Sox up, 7-1. Story had been in a 7-for-65 slide with 25 strikeouts prior to the Home Run.  It was Story's 6th Home Run of the season and his 1st extra-base hit in 18 Games.

Crochet Day: Garrett Crochet made another start after a loss for the Red Sox on Saturday. Crochet picked up his 4th win this season with 7 impressive innings of 1-run baseball. Crochet gave up 7 hits. He walked 1 and struck out 9. He finished up his night by striking out Bobby Witt Jr. with the bases loaded to end the 7th Inning. Crochet has allowed 2 earned runs or less in 8 of his 9 outings.

#'s of the NIGHT: Rafael Devers collected his 2nd 4-hit game of the season. The Sox DH knocked in 3 runs and also walked once.  The Red Sox improved to 6-3 in Crochet's 1st 9 starts with Saturday night's win. The Red Sox are now (12-1) this season when collecting 10 or more Hits in a game and 14-6 when scoring 1st.

Roster Moves- The Red Sox placed Romy Gonzalez in the 10-Day IL on Saturday and recalled Nick Sogard from Triple-A Worcester. It's Sogard's first time in the big leagues this season. Gonzalez is dealing with a left quad contusion.  He was involved in a collision at 1st-base during the Rangers series at Fenway.  Sogard made his MLB debut with the Red Sox in 2024 and had 21 hits, including 4 Doubles, in 31 Games.

What's On Tap?: The Red Sox conclude their weekend series in Kansas City Sunday afternoon. Lucas Giolito and Seth Luga are the probable starters for Sunday.  After the series concludes in Kansas City on Sunday, the Red Sox are off to Detroit for a 3-Game set against the Tigers with the series underway on Monday.  After the 6-game trip, the Red Sox will return home for a 10-game homestand against the Braves, Mets and Orioles.
