The Red Sox (24-25) got back in the win column with a 3-1 victory over the New York Mets at Fenway Park Monday night.  The Red Sox had lost their previous 4 series openers before Monday night's win. The Red Sox (4) Relievers combined for 4.1 scoreless innings. Jarren Duran went 2-for-4 with a Double & Triple. It was Duran's 6th Triple of the season. Aroldis Chapman got a groundball double play to end the game and notch his 7th save.

Scoring in the 1st: The Red Sox scored their 1st 2 runs off Kodai Senga in the 1st Inning in the series opener. Alex Bregman plated Jarren Duran with an RBI groundout & Trevor Story picked up an RBI with a 2-out single.  The Sox have scored 30 1st-Inning runs thru their 1st 49 games and have scored just 4 1st-Inning runs over their last 17 Games.

Acting Manager: Ramon Vazquez served as acting manager for the Red Sox Monday night. Alex Cora missed the series opener against the Mets with his daughter graduating from Boston College earlier in the day.  Cora will return on Tuesday.

#'s of the Day: Trevor Story picked up his 21st RBI in the 1st Inning with a 2-out single.  Story now has 1 extra-base hit & 7 RBI in his last 25 Games. The Red Sox string of 6 straight games with a Home Run came to an end with Monday night's win. The Red Sox turned 3 Double Plays in the win and have turned 9 GDIPs over the last 5 Games. The Red Sox went 1-for-11 with RISP & 9 LOB.

What's On Tap?: The Red Sox continue their series Tuesday night at Fenway.  Clay Holmes and Walker Buehler are the probable starting pitchers for the series opener. Buehler will come off the IL for the Red Sox and make his 1st start for the Red Sox since April 26 at Cleveland.  The Mets swept a 3-game series against the Red Sox at Citi Field last September.  The Red Sox will begin a 4-game series with the Orioles next Thursday.  Baltimore parted ways with manager Brandon Hyde on Saturday.
