The Red Sox avoided being swept on the South Side of Chicago with a 3-1 win over the White Sox Sunday afternoon.  Garrett Crochet retired the 1st 15 hitters he faced and lost his no-hit bid in the 8th when Chase Meidroth led off with a single. Aroldis Chapman worked a scoreless 9th inning to record the save. Crochet struck out 11 in his 1st outing against his former club.

Part of the Story- Trevor Story got the Sox on the board with a 2-run Double in the 6th Inning and he provided some insurance with a solo Home Run in the 9th to make it 3-1. It was Story's 3rd Home Run of the season. The homer end the Red Sox stretch of 6 straight games without a Home Run.

Fitts Update: The Red Sox placed RHP Richard Fitts on the Injured List Sunday with a right pectoral strain.  Fitts suffered the injury in Saturday's start.  He was terrific over the 1st 5 Innings against the White Sox Saturday and took the hill in the Bottom of the 6th with a 2-0 lead, but he exited the game with the injury. Zack Kelly came into the game and gave up a 2-run Home Run to Luis Robert Jr. that tied the game at 2-2.  Fitts took a no-decision.

What's On Tap?: The Red Sox and Rays will open up a series in Tampa, FL Monday night. Tanner Houck is slated to go in the opener for the Red Sox.

Red Sox Trade: The Red Sox traded Pitcher Quinn Priester to the Milwaukee Brewers for minor league outfielder Yophery Rodriguez, a competitive balance pick (#33) in the 2025 MLB Draft and a player to be named later or cash considerations on Monday. Rodriguez was touted as the 7th-best prospect in the Brewers system according to MLB Pipeline. He’s 19 and started this season off at the Advanced-A Level. Priester was acquired from the Pirates last July for infielder Nick Yorke. Priester made his MLB debut on the final day of the 2024 Regular Season, and he earned the win vs. the Tampa Bay Rays.
