The Red Sox dropped an 8-5 decision to the Seattle Mariners Wednesday night at Fenway Park. Sean Newcomb took the loss.  The Red Sox are now 4-2 on their current homestand that wraps up Thursday afternoon.  The Red Sox have won 6 straight series finales and will look to make it 7 in a row in the rubber game of the 3-game set with Seattle. Tristan Casas hit his 2nd 3-run Home Run in 2 games in the 8th Inning.

Duran's Hit Streak: Jarren Duran extended his hit streak to 10 straight games with a 2-out Single in the 3rd. Duran also had a Double in the 5th inning for his 2nd straight multi-hit game during the current streak.

#'s of the NIGHT: With the 3-run Home Run from Casas in the 8th, the Red Sox run their streak of homering to 10 straight games (15- Total). The Sox have now homered in a season-high 10 in a row after going 6 straight games without going Yard.  The Red Sox are 2-3 in Newcomb's 5 starts. Newcomb struck out 8 and allowed 4 ER over his 5 Innings. In allowing 4 Runs, it ended a string of 7 straight games where the Red Sox starting pitchers allowed 2 runs or less.

What's On Tap?: The Red Sox conclude their series against the Mariners Thursday afternoon at Fenway.  Garrett Crochet is set to start the finale Thursday afternoon against Bryan Woo.  The Red Sox will play 3 in Cleveland and 3 more in Toronto on their next road trip, which gets started on Friday night.

Liam's Return: Liam Hendriks was activated on Saturday, and he made his Red Sox debut in Sunday's loss to the White Sox. Hendriks gave up a 2-run Home Run to Andrew Vaughn in the 8th Inning.  Hendriks last pitched in the Big Leagues on June 9, 2023 with the White Sox.  He is coming back from Tommy John surgery and treatment for non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma (diagnosed in January of 2022).  After improving to 2-0 in his 1st 2 Big League starts Friday night, Hunter Dobbins was optioned to Triple-A Worcester.
