The Red Sox lost their 3rd in a row with a 2-1, 11-inning loss to the Toronto Blue Jays Wednesday night at Fenway Park. Boston went 0-for-11 and struck out 14 times against Kevin Gausman and 2 Toronto relievers.  The Red Sox will look to avoid being swept by the Blue Jays with the series finale Thursday afternoon at Fenway Park.

Tanner On the Bump: Tanner Houck ended up with a no-decision but turned his best performance of the season on Wednesday night. Houck gave up a 1st-inning run, but nothing else in his outing. He left with a runner at 3rd in the 7th but Justin Wilson came on and got the final out. The Red Sox turned 3 Double Plays behind Houch---2 Line-out DPs and 1 GDIP.  #89's Final Line- 6.2 IP. 5 H. 1 R. 1 ER. 2 BB. 2 K.

Red Sox Trade: The Red Sox traded Pitcher Quinn Priester to the Milwaukee Brewers for minor league outfielder Yophery Rodriguez, a competitive balance pick (#33) in the 2025 MLB Draft and a player to be named later or cash considerations on Monday. Rodriguez was touted as the 7th-best prospect in the Brewers system according to MLB Pipeline. He’s 19 and started this season off at the Advanced-A Level. Priester was acquired from the Pirates last July for infielder Nick Yorke. Priester made his MLB debut on the final day of the 2024 Regular Season, and he earned the win vs. the Tampa Bay Rays.
