The Red Sox (33-36) evened up their series at 1-1 with the Tampa Bay Rays after winning 3-1 at Fenway Park Tuesday night. The Sox have won 4 of 6 and go for the series win Wednesday night. Greg Weisert worked a 1-2-3 9th for his 1st save of the season and 2nd in the Big Leagues.

Giolito Takes The Ball: Lucas Giolito was much better than last time out when he did not get out of the 2nd Inning against the Los Angeles Angels. Giolito gave up 1 unearned run over 6 impressive innings.  He gave up 3 hits, walked 3 and struck out 4 in improve to (2-1) with the win.  The Sox are now 5-1 in his last 6 outings.

Sox At The Dish: Roman Anthony got the Sox on the board in the Bottom of the 1st Inning with a 2-out, 2-run Double the opposite way against Ryan Pepiot. His 1st Big League hit came on a 1-2 pitch. Trevor Story made it 3-1 with a solo Home Run in the 6th Inning. It's his 9th of the season. The Sox went just 1-for-9 with Runners in Scoring Position and are 5-for-32 with RISP over the 1st 2 games of the series.

The Other Call-Up: Along with Roman Anthony, the Red Sox also added 28-year-old right-handed pitcher Brian Van Belle to the 40-man and active rosters on Tuesday.  Van Belle pitched at Miami and is in his 5th year in the Red Sox organization.  He will be the 5th player to make his MLB debut this season, joining Anthony, Marcelo Mayer, Kristian Campbell, & Hunter Dobbins. Van Belle was 5-1 with a 2.29 ERA in 12 Games (8 Game Starts) with Triple-A Worcester.

What's On Tap?: The Rays and Red Sox conclude their series Wednesday night. Walker Buehler and Zack Littell are the scheduled starters.  After Thursday's off day, the Red Sox will begin a 3-game series against the Yankees Friday night.  The Sox are in a stretch of playing 9 straight games against AL East clubs. After next Sunday, the Red Sox will embark on a 9-game road trip with 3 in Seattle, 3 in San Francisco, & 3 in Anaheim.
