The Red Sox (54-49) never led at any point in losing, 4-1, to the Phillies at Citizens Bank Park Tuesday night in Philadelphia. The Sox have dropped the 1st 2 games of the series and are now 1-4 on their current 6-game road trip out of the all-star break. The Sox have dropped 2 straight series after winning 4 in a row prior to the break. Cristopher Sanchez gave up 1 run and struck out 12 in going the distance for the Phillies.

Give 'Em Fitts: Richard Fitts started in the middle game of the 3-game series Tuesday night in Philly.  Fitts, who had 14 full days off between outings, lasted 3.1 innings and he allowed 4 runs (all earned) on 6 Hits. He allowed an RBI Single in the 1st to Nick Castellanos and then Bryce Harper on an attempted steal of home was called safe at the plate on catcher's interference by Carlos Narvaez. Fitts then allowed solo Home Runs to Max Kepler and Kyle Schwarber in the 3rd. He left the game with a runner on ad the Sox trailing 4-1 in the 4th inning. He walked no one and struck out 4. Fitts ended up with the loss and falls to 1-4. The Sox are now 2-7 in his 1st 9 starts.

Sox at the Dish: The Red Sox didn't manage a single base runner over the 1st 3 innings against Cristopher Sanchez. Rob Refsnyder led off the 4th with a Home Run, his 6th of the season and 5th against a lefty pitcher. Roman Anthony went 0-for-4 with 4 strikeouts and is 1-for-9 with a Double and 8 strikeouts over the 1st 2 games of the series. Romy Gonzalez went 0-for-4 and struck out to end the game. Gonzalez and is hitless in his last 18 at-bats.

#'s of the DAY: The Sox have scored 10 runs and gone 3-for-27 (0-for-1 Tuesday night) with RISP since the break.  The Red Sox have struck out 28 times over the 1st 2 games of the series. The Sox are now 15-33 when tallying 10 or more strikeouts in a game this season. It's the 5th time that Carlos Narvaez has been called for catcher's interference this season and the 8th time on Red Sox catchers.  The Red Sox had 1 (1 Home Run) extra-base hits in Tuesday night's Loss and have 88 extra-base hits over the last 20 Games.

What's On Tap?: The Red Sox conclude their series against the Phillies Wednesday night at Citizens Bank Park. Lucas Giolito is slated to make the start in the finale Wednesday night.  The Sox have a scheduled off day Thursday and open up a 3-game series against the Los Angeles Dodgers Friday night at Fenway. The Red Sox began a stretch of playing 12 of their 1st 15 on the road out of the All-Star Break last Friday.
