The Red Sox (42-44) closed out the month of June with a 13-6 victory in the series opener against the Cincinnati Reds on Monday night at Fenway Park. The Sox had a winning month of June with a 14-12 mark. The Sox collected 14 hits including 8 extra-base hits vs. Reds pitching. Everyone in the starting lineup had at least 1 Hit.

Crochet Day: Garrett Crochet got the start in the series opener and retired the 1st 10 hitters he faced. Crochet ran into trouble in the 4th giving up 3 runs in the inning. Crochet gave up 5 runs (4 ER) for the 2nd time this season but still ended up whit his 8th win of the season and his first of the season at Fenway Park. Crochet went 4-0 with 2 No-Decisions in June. The club is now 11-7 in his 18 Starts.

Sox at the Dish: The Red Sox sent 13 hitters to the plate in the 1st Inning and scored 7 runs off Reds' rookie Chase Burns. Carlos Narvaez had an RBI Double, Trevor Story made it 5-0 with a 3-run Home Run. Later in the inning, David Hamilton and Roman Anthony delivered RBI Singles. It's the 3rd time this season where the Red Sox scored 5 or more runs in the 1st Inning. Anthony extended his hit streak to 4 in a row in his 2nd at-bat of the 1st Inning. Wilyer Abreu made it 8-4 in the 5th Inning with an Inside-the-Park Home Run. Abreu capped the big offensive night with a Grand Slam in the Bottom of the 8th Inning.

#'s of the DAY: The Red Sox are now 11-1 this season when Story homers. It was Story's 5th Home Run this season with 2 men on base and the Red Sox 18th 3-run Home Run. The Red Sox went 6-5 when scoring 5 runs or more in a game during the month of June. Jarren Duran led off the 6th with his 6th Home Run of the season and 3rd of the game for the Red Sox. The Sox have hit 4 or more Home Runs in a game 5 times this season.

What's On Tap?: The Reds and Red Sox continue their series Tuesday night at Fenway Park. Richard Fitts is slated to go for the Red Sox. The Reds counter with Brady Singer, who was acquired from the Royals during the season. Brayan Bello goes in Wednesday's finale against the Reds. The Sox will have Thursday off and will open a series up in D.C. against the Nationals on the July 4 Holiday. Friday night started a stretch of playing 13 of 16 at Fenway, leading into the all-star break.
