The Red Sox (46-45) completed a series sweep of the Washington Nationals with a (6-3) win in Sunday's series finale in our nation's capital.  The Sox have won 6 of 8 and are a game over .500.  The Sox never trailed in the series and outscored the Nationals (27-8) over the 3 Games. It is the 3rd series sweep of the season for the Sox and 1st on the road.

Sox at the Dish: The Sox led 4-0 5 hitters into the game against the Nationals. Roman Anthony knocked in the game's 1st run with an RBI Single and he scored on an RBI Double from Rob Refsnyder. Trevor Story followed with a 2-run Home Run. It is Story's 14th Home Run of the season. Story has hit in 8 straight games and has 15 Hits and 12 RBIs during the streak. Romy Gonzalez made it 5-2 with a Sacrifice Fly in the 7th to give him 8 RBIs over his last 6 Games. Ceddanne Rafaela hit a solo Home Run in the 9th to provide the Red Sox with a 3-run cushion.

Crochet Day: Garrett Crochet notched the win and improved to 9-4 on the season with Sunday's victory.  Crochet covered the 1st 5 Inning and gave up 2 earned runs on 9 Hits. He walked 2 and struck out 7. It is the 15th time that Crochet has allowed 2 runs or less in an outing this season. Crochet is now 8-1 in road starts.

Sox Pen: Alex Cora used 4 relievers behind Crochet on Sunday. Greg Weissert walked the 1st 2 hitters he faced after entering in the 7th and the second walk came with the bases loaded. Weissert got the final out in the 7th and left the bases loaded. Aroldis Chapman gave up a hit in working a scoreless 8th Inning. Jordan Hicks worked a scoreless 9th Inning and for his 1st save with the Red Sox.

What's On Tap?: The Sox wrap up the final week before the All-Star break with 3 against the Colorado Rockies and 4 against the Tampa Bay Rays. The 3-game set with the Rockies starts Monday night. Richard Fitts, Brayan Bello, and Lucas Giolito are lined up to start the 3 games against the Rockies.  The last time the Red Sox played the Rockies they lost 20-7 at Coors Field on July 24, 2024. It was the final game of a 1-5 Road Trip out of the All-Star break and came on the same day that it was reviled that the Red Sox and Alex Cora had an agreement on a contract extension.
