Makani Aiu becomes our first returning guest on Redwood PowerShow, the Dopest Show to Ever Show.  In the last episode he was on I gave him homework to learn something new about the strength world.  He wound up spending an hour on youtube watching the most recent seminar put on at Super Training, the one that featured Ed Can, Mark Bell, Jesse Burdick, and Stan Efferding.  We talk about his opinions of the seminar and how he was particularly fond of what ed can had to offer.  We also discuss the qualifying rounds of Worlds Strongest Man 2018 taking place in the Philippines.  These two topics make up the meat and potatoes of the episode and we fill in the cracks with the usual banter and shenanigans, kick back and enjoy Redwood PowerShow.

Meghan, AKA Megatron, and I briefly were part of the same powerlifting crew right here in Humboldt county. Unfortunately the crew for the most part fell apart and its members went their separate ways. Ever since starting the podcast I've had it in my head that she would be a great person to have on the show and I was fortunate enough to have that come true in episode 5. Meghan is well known as a force to be reckoned with and she is returning to the platform after a two year hiatus, coming back from an injury. Oliver Ruggles is a co-worker and fellow Iron enthusiast. We go over how we met, how he became interested in the pursuit of strength and athletics, who he finds inspiring, and unfortunately we don't pay much attention to what's going on in Humboldt County, In future episodes we will look into interviewing local shop owners for the Humboldt County segment. Makani Aiu was the best man at my wedding and I have considered this man to be one of my best friends for the past eight years.  Although he is not as passionate about powerlifting as myself, he has been at Redwood PowerHouse since the beginning when it was just the squat stand and Rogue beater bar with a few crappy Weider plates.  This, when you think of it, means that besides me, Makani probably has the most knowledge of RPH's brief history.  We discuss our friend ship and his recent accomplishments in strength along with accomplishments happening throughout the rest of the strength world.  Of course we wind up putting our two cents in on topics considering Humboldt County as well.  Kick back, relax and enjoy.

On tonight's episode I am joined by my prettiest guest so far, my wife! Hope does her best to put her two cents in concerning the strength world and she does surprisingly well. I'm always amazed by the amount of knowledge she has on topics that I find interesting. We talk about her plans to train for the next month at RPH, our different diets and training styles. In regards to the strength world she also discusses her recent obsession with Kerri Shaw, wife of 4 time Worlds Strongest Man Brian Shaw. This is the first Episode of Redwood PowerShow, the dopest show to ever show. I am joined by my good friend Paco Willard. Paco and I attempt to get our first podcast under our belt and surprisingly time flies by pretty quick when recording these things. We cover three different topics; Redwood PowerHouse news, news of the strength world, and Humboldt County News.
