  • Episode 26: Brittainy Chown
Redwood PowerShow goes on the road for either the third or fourth time, I honestly can’t remember. But this time, We are in Sacramento speaking with none other than Britt Chown. Chown is well on her way to becoming a household name in the sport of powerlifting and she’s a good friend of mine. Back in the day when we went to college together we also worked at a local sporting good store. Long story short it was good to catch up with her. Britt is knocking on the door of a 500 lb deadlift, is a CSCS through the NSCA, and has started her own company, the website of which is chownstrength.com. This goes to show that Britt has a wealth of knowledge and it was great to be able to have her on the show. Kick back, relax and enjoy Redwood PowerShow.

Discussion includes new fitness industry belt squats, the recent documentary put out by Rogue, RPH PRs and much more. In order to hear it for yourself, kick back, relax and enjoy Redwood PowerShow.

  • Episode 24: Evan and Hope
Wow, I listened back on this episode after recording it and quite frankly sounded a bit whiny.  Hope and I are back at it as returning guests for Redwood PowerShow.  The show is experiencing a bit of a hiatus in regards to new guests but the show must go on!  This episode is arguably the least formal episode but regardless it's still packed with amazing content.  Kick back, relax, and enjoy Redwood PowerShow.

  • EPISODE 20: John and Gerardo
John is one of those guys I would always see in local gyms around Humboldt County and the man was always moving big numbers.  400 lbs, 500 lbs, it didn't matter.  He was always there to do one thing, and that was to lift, not to talk to anybody else.  He and I are at a point where we are similar in strength and have been trying to get a session in for months.  He finally was able to come to RPH and he also asked if he could bring a friend Gerardo to get a session in.  I of course accepted when the two showed up, the three of us got to work and wrecked shop.  Gerardo has a long history of martial arts training and John has an in depth knowledge of the world of PowerLifting, with the two of them in the gym I would say it was RPH's best training session to date.  to learn more about these guys join us for the next hour.  Kick back, relax and enjoy, Redwood PowerShow

  • Episode 19: Brandon and Kaitlyn
Episode 19 takes place, yet again, in the garage.  Makani and I are joined by returning guest Brandon Amis and his seven year old daughter Kaitlyn.  Brandon is relatively new to the powerlifting game, regardless, he has a huge understanding of the sport as he has become infatuated with it.  Kaitlyn of course has picked up on this and is taking after her daddy and decided to get some numbers up on the board at RPH.  The episode contains a lot of information as we focus on the worlds strongest woman event going on in Iceland, plans for RPH's near future, and the devastation of California's fires.  If you want to find out more, you'll of course have to tune in and join us for about an hour.  Kick back, relax and enjoy Redwood PowerShow.

  • EPISODE 17: David Austin
About four weeks prior we had my dad, Erik von Werlhof on the podcast.  This week we continue this theme by introducing Hope's Father, David Austin to our list of Redwood PowerShow guests.  David was kind enough to fly us out to visit him and his wife Michelle for the week in Florida and we of course are having an absolute blast. The first time I met the man he struck me as a formidable force in the weight room as the guy looks like he can literally move mountains.  During our conversation we find out that he practically did while touring with the Air Force, working construction in places like Afghanistan.  He did this of course in full combat uniform and was still sure to hit the gym afterwords.  Hope is my co-host for this episode and we discuss the reintroduction of the WPO into the world of powerlifting and the impact it might have on the sport.  We also cover Humboldt county news.  The real meat and potatoes of this episode however is the wonderful conversation my wife and I were able to have with her father David Austin.  Sit back, Relax and enjoy Redwood PowerShow.
