In this solo episode of Fraudology, Karisse focuses in on issues impacting e-commerce retail during the winter holiday season. Starting first with an update on the prediction she made in an earlier episode (9 November 2023) involving Black Friday/Cyber Monday and the possible return of the online fraud ring, the "Master Manipulators". She also shares how predicting unpredictable behavior of fraudsters is important, but also isn't a perfect science.

Switching gears slightly, Karisse then shares recent news that the US Department of Justice has officially taken a position on refund claims fraud (aka- refund fraud), and once again makes a strong case for the importance of post-transaction investigations teams within e-commerce to work with law enforcement to prosecute bad actors.
