Are you out of your spiritual closet?
Come on, be honest.
Do you speak your truth outside of private facebook groups full of like minded people and soul friends?
(This question is about integrity.)
I’m all about the sacred container. Having the space to go inward, to transform. The underworld that we have to dive into to find what’s hidden inside of us. The cocoon.
But are you using this as an excuse?
And maybe you’re LOUD & PROUD witch or healer & you’re hiding the ‘I make a fuck ton of money’ side. Or the goofy side, or the ‘yes, I’m spiritual & I love me a gin & tonic’ side.
Integrity is the state of being whole and undivided.
True integrity is being yourself 100% of the time. Not just when it is comfortable, convenient, and easy. Not just when you’re alone in your house, or in a room full of people who think, talk, and act the same way that you do.
It’s also honoring you as a human that feels different from one day to the next or one hour to the next. Who is complex, paradoxical, and multi-dimensional.
Now We’ve all met that person. Who is unapologetically themselves. You feel them. They’re kind of intoxicating. You just want to be near them to suck in their fumes - the essence of someone who is fully integrated. Who accepts the good, bad, ugly, stunning, obnoxious bits of themselves.
The big question I have for you today is:
What if you chose to live like this? You chose your soul over society? You chose your integrity over making people like you and making everyone happy.
What if you started saying what you wanted to say and did what you wanted to do? Over and over and over again.
Well, at first it’s going to be uncomfortable. Yes, there will be those comments trying to poke holes in your expression - those people who obviously don’t see the intention (and beauty) behind what you’re doing.
Yes, you’re going to have to learn to put up healthy boundaries.
You’ll actually learn what your true boundaries are. And you’ll start doing that from the beginning, not after a boundary has already been crossed and you're triggered into anger or awkwardness.
By living in your truth the people around you will change.
Uncomfortably.
And for the better.
And When we stop looking for likes and shares and pats on the back. When the expression of our soul comes first, we fall into integrity and into alignment.
(And for those of us that work with clients it means that you are attracting those that are meant to learn from you, those that spontaneously heal when they work with you.
And it also means you repel those that aren’t your soul clients ;) )
===
So If you’re here you probably feel the cellular backlash of witch burning. Maybe you even have dreams or memories of burning at the stake. Your crucifixion.
Or maybe you’ve experienced sexual abuse. Coming from a past where it was actually unsafe to be seen or noticed.
For a lot of us this somatic pain is sitting in our unconscious, but running our lives. An undercurrent of fear that causes us to hide, or wear masks, or dabble in a bunch of different things but never fully commit to or complete anything.
But here’s the important shift: You are safe now.
You can Take a breath and go inward. Deep into your belly. Through your womb, deep into the core of the earth. And know that You are safe now.
You can know that This is your time. Our time.
To step out of your spiritual closet. Talk about your shame, fears, wounds, as well as your ecstasy, gifts and excitement.
We can Use sacred containers like a Queen’s inner chambers. To be held and nurtured and rejuvenated.
But don’t stay in your ivory tower. Don’t stay hidden.
You are not here to hide your truth. You are here to HEAL the world with it.
==
I’ve put together a few journal prompts to take you deeper into this topic. Deeper into integrity.
Remember to breath & get centers. It only takes 3 deep breaths - a few seconds.
Ready?
What are the most important values for you?
Some examples may be family, love, creativity, wealth, spirituality, kindness…
What are your biggest priorities right now?
How do you spend your time? (and I invite you to actually track your time to see how many hours you’re doing certain things)
How do you spend your money? (big juicy exercise in going through your bank and credit card statements line by line to see where your money is going)
What parts of you do you feel like you have to hide? How would it feel to share those parts of you? How would it feel to that part of you to be seen and accepted?
What do you want?
What else do you want?
And what else do you want?
What if the fastest way to get alllll of those things is to love, accept, embrace, honor, and display those parts of you that you’re hiding?
A lot of juice in there. Can’t wait to hear
If you enjoyed this one make sure to screenshot the episode & post on IG Stories & tag @thedirtyalchemy ! I’d love to see & share.

I’m delighted to have Simone Grace Seol on this week!
If you don’t know Simone, she is a life coach and business mentor based in Seoul, South Korea. She hosts the Joyful Marketing podcast and works with coaches all over the world to create a revolution in love-based marketing.
& as she puts it - she teaches life coaches how to not market like a weirdo, so people actually want to buy from them.
And just to be clear — this podcast is not for life coaches but magical online business owners in general — so what we talk about today is for all of you ;)
“If your business feels hard because of the nervous system or the brain you have, it’s probably because there’s an even more important thing that you have to teach the world.” - Simone
Simone shares about the range of emotions she’s experienced since becoming the Life Coach School’s first non-white coach to create $1M in revenue in a year. (04:30)
Since hitting $1 million, Simone feels more solid and grounded — like a spiritual heavy-weight. Like she’s become who she was meant to become, not just in terms of success, but in terms of her spiritual growth as well.
Since then, it’s been a full spectrum of experiences. She’s still had significant emotional challenges in her business that have sent her spinning, but she knows this is where she’s meant to be.
Simone equates her business journey to a video game. When you get to the next level, there are always new challenges and unexpected obstacles, but she knows that she has earned her place here and she is ready to play.
The biggest difference in this new stage of success is that a lot more people know her and have opinions about her, and now she’s stewarding a much bigger community of people who are paying money to work with her. So she has learned how to hold a powerful enough space for all those people to realize their own dreams and growth.
At this point, Simone says that her ultimate challenge is to expand her ability to love herself and support herself not in spite of her flaws and the mistakes she makes along the way, but because of them.
“Every next level of your business is like the next level of a video game, with its own monsters and obstacles — sometimes you die and you have to start over. But I know I belong on this level. I’ve earned this level. Let’s play!” - Simone
On how she flipped the switch from one-off $38 tarot readings to being a 7-figure business owner in less than 2 years. (46:30)
Grace attributes a lot of her success to newly coming out of her Saturn return, where she was constantly in a state of intense alchemy and transformation. Her Saturn return was a profound process of shedding a layer of skin and stepping into herself, and now she can lean more fully into the things that benefit her that her ego wants to reject — like selling and vulnerability. She’s worked hard at coming to love those things she previously didn’t enjoy. In the process, she healed so much of jher trauma and discovered a new strength in herself that she didn’t know she had.
“If it wasn’t for my Saturn return, I wouldn’t be where I was today. But me achieving success inside my Saturn return looked different from what my success looks like now.” - Simone
On what she calls “Trauma informed neurodiversity honoring love based sacred marketing,” and how we can have trauma responses triggered by our businesses, like freezing, flight, or fawn. (26:30)
Grace is the poster child for how ADHD and other neurodiversity doesn’t have to hold you back, it can just be another part of your soul and business journey.
At the end of the day it’s you and your soul and everything is just a mirror showing you your relationship with your own soul. That’s where these trauma responses come from, they’re a sign that there is healing work you need to do, and they will appear in any area of your life that’s important to you, including your business.
Here’s what she has to say about trauma responses look like in your business:
“The biggest pattern that I attribute my success to is my ability to look at what’s hard, look at what’s triggering, and to say, ‘Let’s stay with this. Let’s figure out what’s on the other side.’” - Simone

Hey there! Today we’re talking about morning routines.
And it’s kind of funny, we're actually not talking about this because it's something that I do all the time, but because it's something that I know I need to start doing more!
I'm currently super inconsistent with my morning routine, and that gets even worse when I have a busy week or month where we're doing a lot of launches. I tend to just totally fall off the wagon and check my phone first thing in the morning even though I know it's bad.
But it's really hard! It really is hard to develop a good routine or ritual first thing in the morning… even when you know it’s really important for jump-starting your day in a positive way.
So, if you're like me, you've heard tons of really successful people talking about their morning routines. Maybe you've even tried your own morning routine and fallen off the wagon… or maybe you're looking for a way to change it up because your current routine feels boring.
Either way, we're talking all about that today and we're going to look at three of my favorite influencers and their morning routines which can hopefully give you some inspiration for your own.
So... let's start by talking about why morning routines are such a hot topic right now.
The main appeal of morning routines is that they basically inject stability straight into your day. Which makes your work easier… and your life easier.
When you're busy with life, with your business, with your family -- your life can fill with busy-ness and lose meaning.
Taking scheduled time every day to re-center yourself and focus on your values and what's important to you is really powerful. It makes sure that you’re prioritizing the things you want to prioritize, and you're not just getting caught up in the grind of work.
Which as entrepreneurs is really easy for us. It's super easy to get wrapped up in everything that needs to get done and not make time for yourself.
But by creating a morning routine that focuses on your values and what's important to you, you're ensuring that you're keeping certain things sacred in your life.
You're making time for yourself.
You're staying grounded in the meaning and the purpose of why you're really here.
If you don’t have a morning ritual, it’s really easy to put off mindfulness and mind/body focus. So having one allows you to fully show up for the rest of the day.
And if you heard my recent episode on having a fucked up brain -- which I’ll link in the show notes -- you know that stability can make a huge difference in your mental health as well. Especially with online businesses, where you can feel like you're always online, giving your brain that space to reset and focus is really powerful for your overall health. It helps you to not build stress.
So without further ado… I want to talk about the morning routines of 3 of my favorite influencers, women who are insanely successful, to see what they’re doing to start their days off right.
Gala Darling
Let’s start with one of my personal favorite influencers, Gala Darling.
If you don't know Gala Darling, she's a best-selling author and speaker whose business is built around radical self love. She’s also a big fan of EFT Tapping, which, if you don’t know what that means, is an emotional psychology technique that balances your energy.
So, Gala Darling has written that she’s definitely fallen off the wagon with morning routines. Which is super relatable.
But in her morning routine, she tries to wake up at 7:30 or earlier. Does some gentle stretching and then half an hour of exercise before she showers and gets pretty for the day. And then makes a healthy smoothie that she takes with her vitamins as she starts checking her emails and getting into the workflow. She also takes time in the mornings to set intentions for the day in her journal.
And Gala Darling has said that what she doesn't do is just as important as what she does in her morning routine. Like, sleeping in until 10 or 11 just doesn't do it for her, because she knows that she gets her best work done first thing in the morning.
But the most important thing for her?
Start your day off by raising your vibration to one of joy and excitement. The only rule she has for morning routines is it has to feel good and it has to be focused on you, not other people. So, no Instagram scrolling. She recommends meditating, singing, working out, stretching, journaling, and a gratitude practice.
The best part is, you can change it up! Do whatever you want to do on that day. As long as you're taking time to focus on yourself and positivity, you’re starting your day off right.
Jasmine Starr
Jasmine Star is an entrepreneur and photographer who specializes in social media and branding. You might've heard her before on her podcast, the Jasmine Star Show, or seen her around Instagram.
Jasmine has a really incredible story about how she got to where she is right now, but all you really need to know is that she is super successful, and she says she gets her best work done first thing in the morning.
So Jasmine had said that she wakes up every morning at 4:30 AM. Which sounds really early.
But she knows she's a slow starter, and because she never hops out of bed like, ‘hey world, here I am!’, she knows that she needs a lot of time in the morning to just sit and be and get ready for the day.
Because what do you need to optimize your mornings if you're a slow starter? You need time to prepare for the day and do all the things that get you into a space of creativity and work flow.
For Jasmine, that looks like taking 45 minutes every day before the wheels start turning to have a cup of tea, take a bath, take time to stretch and do yoga, pray, and read. All the things that she knows help get her ready for the day.
Then she starts work at 5:30 in the morning totally ready to go, and it's perfect because that's when her mind is the most sharp.
And Jasmine has said that the first things that she does at work are the things that need her full attention, like writing podcasts and social media posts. Because that's when her cup is overflowing with creativity and focus, and she knows that that's when she can give the best of herself and the most of herself to her audience.
And this is the way she looks at her morning routine. Jasmine says: “I give myself 45 minutes of utter decadence. It is a gift and a treat.”
Which I think is a really beautiful way to look at it, especially if you struggle with morning routines or you're not a morning person. To look at it like you're giving yourself a gift is so powerful.
Gabby Bernstein
So the third person I'm going to feature is Gabby Bernstein. If you don't know her, she's a #1 New York Times best-selling author who Oprah named “the new thought leader for the next generation.”
I mean, don’t you want to be that successful?! I want Oprah to notice me.
Anyways, so Gabbi wakes up and practices transcendental meditation for 20 minutes. Then she does another 20 minutes of an EFT meditation. Then if she has time, she does an hour of exercise like yoga, pilates, sculpting class, or walking.
So her entire routine can last 1 - 2 hours.
And she does this all even with a baby at home! Because it’s that important to her.
I love these examples because they demonstrate that successful people have time for themselves - their mental health, physical health, and spiritual health.
I mean what’s that quote?
If you don’t have 20 minutes a day to meditate then you need to be spending 2 hours a day meditating?
So let’s take a look at 3 main takeaways from these morning routines:Work when your brain functions best.So one thing that I saw over and over again as I was researching morning routines is that the most successful people aren’t just working when their brains are at 100%... but they're actually planning their schedule around when they know they're going to put out their best work.
And that's the best part of entrepreneurship, right? A lot of times we can make our own schedule.
So if you find that you work best in the morning, or you feel really guilty if you wake up after 10 AM… even if it's hard, even if you're not a morning person… if you work in those hours when your brain is at its most sharp, you're going to fully give yourself to your audience. And you're definitely going to see the results of that in your business.
You might even find that you save time that you can now spend on other things, because you're able to be so productive in those morning hours when your brain is totally on.

TRANSCRIPT:Today we’re talking about the seasons of your business.
Even though I live on Maui, where there isn’t a huge change in seasons… I’m originally from Michigan where we get hot summers, colorful autumns when the leaves change, super snowy sub zero winters… so I know what it’s like to experience all the seasons.
And I know that, just like the seasons, most areas of life are cyclical. Including your business.
There are periods of growth. Awesome growth where you’re hitting all your goals and kicking ass. And then there are periods of death where you have to take a step back and reevaluate what you’re doing if you want to cycle back into success. There are times of celebration and times of rest.
And these cycles correlate with the seasons.
Also let me just clarify that I'm not saying your business cycles should align with the actual seasons that are happening right now. You can have a summer in your business on a snowy day in January. You can have a period of rest in the dead heat of July if that's what your business is ready for. Here, we’re looking at how you can use the energy of each season to create a balanced and sustainable business model.
And these seasonal cycles apply to more than just your business. Anything that you are birthing with your business will have these cycles inherent in it. So your last online program will also have these periods of preparation, high sensation, and rest.
So, let’s dive in.
Spring is a time of birth, growth, new life… it’s when the flowers start to bud and the animals start shacking up.
If you've been listening to this podcast for a while you probably know that I live on a regenerative farm, where we grow a ton of food. Some of it we give away, some of it we sell in FSA boxes, a lot of it we eat ourselves (and it’s easily the best food you could get anywhere)...
So needless to say, farming is really important to me. Growing my own food gives me a lot of gratification. And along the way I've learned so much about the process of planting and growing and how that applies to the rest of life.
Spring is a time to plant your seeds. Pretty soon after that, you begin to see sprouts start to pop up out of the ground. The plants aren’t anywhere near ready to harvest yet, but this is the time of preparation and planning that you need to put in if you want to eventually get something out of the land.
So if you're in the spring phase of your business, that means you are starting to plant the seeds of your next big goal. Maybe you know you want to launch an online membership, but you first have to come up with an incredible idea and then figure out exactly how you're going to implement that to change peoples lives.
You have to brainstorm and refine your ideas (and if you want to learn more about how to refine your ideas, listen to episode 7 of the podcast where I talk about how to distill your message, I’ll link it in the show notes).
Basically, if you ever want to get anywhere in your business, you first have to take the time to birth your big idea and then figure out what you need to help that idea grow. You need really fertile soil, and that might mean something different to everyone depending on what your business is.
So let’s look at an example.
Let's say your business is as a master coach that helps other coaches build their businesses. When your business is in its Spring, it will probably look like finding the people who you want to coach, determining who your ideal customer avatar is and refining that person until you know exactly who you want to work with.
So spring is the time to get specific about your audience. Because if you think about it, you can plant 1,000 different seeds at the beginning of the growing season. But unless you have the time and energy to actually commit to taking care of all those 1,000 different seeds when they sprout and then eventually become plants that need daily care and attention… yeah, those seeds you planted are just going to wither away and die. And you aren’t going to get anything out of them, except wasting your time and money.
So use the spring phase of your business to focus on specifically what your business is and who you want to work with. And then you can prepare and plan out how your big awesome business idea is going to seduce the right people into working with you.
And a part of this is marketing, right? I mean a big part of growing your business is marketing your business the right way for your audience.
So let’s talk about growth for a second.
A lot of people, when they think of business growth, they think of pulling in a ton of money. They think of the monetary growth that comes with having a successful business.
But growth does not equal profit. If your business is in growth mode, then you give up profit. Because it costs money to grow. You have to pay for more people on your team, more ads and marketing, plus all that new content you’re creating takes a ton of time (and time = money)...
That’s growth. That’s spending your money and your time.
And… If your business is in profit mode, realize that you'll also have to stabilize your business & optimize your processes so that your expenses go down so your profit goes up (remember that profit is total revenue - expenses).
So you really do need a balance of growth mode and profit mode in order to really maximize the money that you're pulling in and make your business as successful as possible. This means things like nurturing your audience on a customer value journey, optimizing your funnel, and preparing for your next launch far an advance.
Another element to this is that when your business is growing that means you're creating a ton of new content. This is another type of planting a seed.
Content creation is a slow moving part of business, but it’s a huge part of building your brand and your audience.
But I still know business owners who have a ton of internal resistance to creating Instagram posts and other social media content, because they feel like it’s this huge time suck, either for themselves or their team members. The copywriting, graphics, responding to comments… it’s a lot of work. And organic growth does take a really long time. Just like it takes a long time for that seed that you planted at the beginning of the growing season to eventually turn into food that you can harvest.
You want to plant those seeds so that in the future you'll have new audience members and customers who can buy into your program.
Now… Let's talk about pulling in that money!
This is the summer of your business. Summer is the season of big round juicy fruit, celebration, parties and barbecues, the start of the harvest season...
This is a time of high sensation. You know you’re in a summer phase when your business feels really intense. When your campaigns go live, when you're doing your big launch and you're hitting your goals. You’re pulling in new clients and a huge cash influx.
This is probably also when you're working longer weeks. You're staying up late at night to make sure everything is going smoothly. Maybe you feel some anxiety about constantly checking how many new people have joined your program. There's a lot going on, there's a lot of emotion involved, and this is when you really see all of the hard work you put in during the growth period come to fruition.
And if you've done a big lunch before then you know they often go by so quickly you kind of miss the excitement of it until it's over. Just like summer, it seems to come in a flash and then you feel nostalgic for it when it's over.
And then it’s time for Fall. Fall is about the continuing of the harvest, when things are starting to die off, and about processing the harvest you’ve already reaped.
So this is the season of fulfilling the work. This is after your launch, when you’re running the numbers and doing the accounting. This is a time when you really want to be reflecting back on what your goals were. What happened to the seeds you planted way back in spring? Did they germinate and create an awesome program or product? Or did they wither away?
The excitement from the launch is dying down. It's time to shift your focus to celebrating the harvest.
You want to be basking in those new customers or clients, and showing them why they joined your business to begin with. If you missed episode 16 of the podcast, we talked all about how you can get your customers to actually participate in your program, fall in love with your program, and leave you ecstatic testimonials that will help you bring in new people.
And that's what the autumn of your business is all about. The excitement of the launch has died down, the big cash influx has died down, but now is the time when you need to be reflecting on how you can best serve your new clients or customers.
So I’ll link episode 16 in the show notes, and I recommend giving
We have a treat today! I’m interviewing the Whoracle, Amy Lorbati, and we’re talking about Heaux Marketing, the definitive answer to Bro Marketing.
Amy of Witch Bitch Whore is a Women’s Empowerment and Leadership Coach. She teaches Badasses how to find power switches they never even knew existed.
“I work with women to help them see that their power has been hidden under the places they’re most afraid to look for it.” — Amy Lorbati
How Witch Bitch Whore came to be (3:00)
The wound of the witch is something Amy thinks resides in all women on a collective consciousness level. At first, it was terrifying for her to reclaim the word “witch” because her fallback plan if this whole entrepreneur thing didn’t work out was to return to patriarchal corporate America. Then the voice of divine source told her she had to reclaim witch, bitch, and whore (all at the same time!) — she faced a ton of internal resistance. Still, she followed that gut instinct even though she didn’t truly know what it meant... and the rest is history!
“Bitch was easy. Witch terrified me. Whore... I was raised Catholic, where you’re either a virgin or a whore, and I quickly fell in with the whores.” — Amy
What does it mean to be a witch? What does taking back that archetype look like? (06:00)
Amy’s work is about helping women to work with the energy of the divine archetypes, and create their own individual expressions of the archetypes. Witch is about spiritual and energetic power. Working wit hthe conept of magnetism, drawing toward you that which you desire, and working with the magic of conscious creation.
What does it mean to work with the energy of the bitch? (07:00)
Bitch is the backbone of the whole operation. If your bitch is powerful and strong, you’re radiating fierce female energy. You’re setting boundaries, working on your mental and emotional power, and overcoming the fear of putting yourself out there. Your bitch is going to help you stand in your truth even when other people are saying they don’t like what you’re doing.
“What would Goddesszilla be like? How would the biggest, baddest, most outrageous woman speak?” — Amy
What does it mean to work with the energy of the whore? (08:00)
Whore means something different to every woman, because each of us have different levels of sexual or sensual repression. Working with the whore is all about feeling good about yourself, feeling safe and whole in your body, and allowing yourself to feel good and trust that it’s okay to feel pleasure.
“A turned on bitch is a powerful bitch!” — Amy

If you already read our 8 Phases of a Numinous Launch guide, you know that launches aren’t over after enrollment closes.
You’ve done all the hard work to get new customers, clients, or members. Now it’s time to love up on them, so that they fall in love with YOU, they transform their lives, and want to keep coming back for more!
1. If you want a successful online program, your customers need to actually go through the program & do the work…No matter how amazing, life-changing, mind-altering & badass your online course or membership is, it’s never going to succeed if your customers don’t go through the program.
With so many thought leaders and influencers creating online programs these days, and with all of the valuable content that people are giving away for free on webinars, Youtube, Instagram, Facebook Live… most of us are getting an onslaught of information and inspiration from every direction.
While this is great in so many ways, it really sucks that your customers can very easily be distracted from ever doing a single part of your program. (Who out there has joined a membership and then never ever logged into the membership portal?? It can’t just be me…)
This is a recipe for cancellations & refund requests. AKA losing those clients you worked so hard to secure.
And you won’t get the testimonials and case studies that you deserve... if only all the people who signed up would have just friggin’ consumed your content & did the work. (Seriously, they’re missing out).
Luckily there are solutions to this popular problem. And today we’re sharing the best tools for making sure people fully show up to your program!
LET’S GO THROUGH A FEW OF OUR FAVORITES:EVENTABLEEventable is an online tool that allows you to easily reach customers through their calendars. It only takes a minute to add your live broadcast (with the date, time, and link) to your Eventable account, and then it’s one simple click for your audience to see your events on their calendar. You can choose which audience sees the event, too, so you can broadcast your event to people in your program or people who haven’t joined yet.
How does this help your online program?
As Marie Forleo loves to say: “If it’s not scheduled, it’s not real."
If your live broadcasts are not on your program participants’ calendars, do you really expect them to show up? If you’ve been in the online program game for a while, you probably already know the answer: nope!
Most people aren’t likely to add events to their calendar right away (I know I‘m guilty of this sometimes!). Even if they’re really excited to attend your live broadcast, if the responsibility rests on them to remember the date/time/link for it, they’re likely to lose track of it in the chaos of their daily lives.
Don’t put this responsibility in their hands.
Make it EASY & mindless for them to know when & where your broadcasts are, and people will be way more likely to show up for them.
TEXT MESSAGE CAMPAIGNSUsing a text-messaging service to send notifications, alerts, and reminders to your customers can significantly increase their participation in your program.
There are a ton of great text-messaging services out there, but some of our favorites are…
ClickSend: This is our go-to site for sending bulk text messages to program members. It’s easy to integrate with other platforms like Eventable, so you can streamline your process of alerting clients or customers to your upcoming events.
SimpleTexting: This tool prides itself at being super simple to use, and for being the #1 text marketing service of businesses of all sizes — perfect for scaling your business.
There’s also Salesmsg and TextMagic, which are great for small businesses who are just starting out with text messaging campaigns.
These tools are so useful because essentially what they do is remind your clients/customers about the things they already said they wanted to be reminded about.
The trick is to send a reminder in the hour before your event (and, if you REALLY want to make sure people show up, you can send an initial reminder the day before).
If you’ve ever been in a deep work flow then you know it’s easy to miss important events that you really want to attend. If you send your program participants a text a few minutes before your broadcast then they’re SIGNIFICANTLY more likely to show up.
Why text reminders? There’s a much greater likelihood they’ll be opened than emails. Where the average open rate of an email is around 20%, the average open rate of a text message is 98%! This seems super obvious, but very few businesses are using this technique.
CALENDLYIf you have a smaller group program or have small group elements (like accountability groups) within your larger program, Calendly is a great tool.
You can create calendar events that your program participants can sign up for & when they do Calendly will email & text them before the event at the timing you set up.
Here’s how to schedule through Calendly. & here’s how to limit group booking sizes.
P.S.: DON’T FORGET TO READ OUR BLOG POST POST ON HOW TO INCREASE YOUR WEBINAR SHOW UP RATES… IT COULD SERIOUSLY SAVE YOUR NEXT LIVE EVENT!2. Getting people settled into your program is a mustYou know your program inside & out. But just because you know it, doesn’t mean the people who just bought it do.
In fact, you should assume the opposite.
YOU SHOULD ASSUME THAT YOUR NEW CUSTOMER BOUGHT YOUR PROGRAM AT A RED LIGHT ON THEIR WAY TO WORK, AND THEY FORGOT THEY SIGNED UP FOR IT WITHIN A FEW HOURS. ASSUME THEY KNOW NEXT-TO-NOTHING ABOUT WHAT YOU’RE OFFERING. ASSUME THEY’RE NEW TO ALL OF THIS AND THEY’VE NEVER BEEN IN AN ONLINE PROGRAM BEFORE.Because even if someone has been following your work for years, entering a new program can be disorienting.
It’s like walking into a building you’ve never been to, in a part of town you’ve never visited, where you don’t know anyone and you’re not entirely sure what you’re supposed to be doing there.
We see it time and time again with online programs. Some customers and clients even end up leaving and asking for a refund, because that’s easier than trying to navigate the program space with no direction.
That’s why providing initial direction is so important. It can make or break the success of your program.
So here are a few ways to orient your new customers into your program:
WELCOME EMAILAs soon as someone enters your program, they should receive an email welcoming them and giving them all the information they need to get started.
Don’t make them search around in the membership for this information… put it right in front of them so it’s easy to access and reference!
Tell your clients and customers explicitly about the first steps you want them to take.
Include links to anything relevant.
(And this is when you get them signed up for your Eventable calendar!)
WELCOME VIDEOThis is a great thing to include in the welcome email.
It only needs to be a few minutes long, and it can be that first awesome peek into who you are and what your program is about. (Again, assume that just because they joined already does not mean they’re familiar with the work you’ll be doing).
… That way, your customers and clients also get a feel for you beyond reading text on a screen.
In the video, reinforce the first steps you want them to take.
Some people learn better through listening to someone speak vs. reading instructions on a page, so a welcome video makes your membership more easily accessible.
ONE-ON-ONE CALLSIf you and your team have the capacity to do these, they’re a game changer.
One-on-one calls are exactly what they sound like: you or someone on your team wil

Hi guys. Today we’re talking about something that’s a little counterintuitive… doing things that don’t feel good for the success of your business.
It happens to be a few days before Halloween, so it feels appropriate to have today’s topic be Poison. And it also happens to be Scorpio season, so it feels particularly appropriate to have today’s topic be Poison as Medicine.
If you’re a business owner you probably already know that doing things you don’t want to do is apart of building & growing a profitable business. Because there will always be parts of your business you’re resistant to because you’re scared. Maybe you’re really nervous about increasing your prices because part of you thinks you still don’t deserve to get paid. Or you hate posting on social media because you’re nervous about opening yourself up to negative comments (or maybe worse… crickets on the other end in response to all the hard work you put on or creative artistry you feel you created). Or any number of other things.
But these things you’re resisting doing in your business… they’re about so much more than just “I don’t feel like it.” They’re about deep insecurities and worries you have. And when you ignore that when they come up… you’re going to stay trapped in the patterns that are limiting you and preventing you from the goals you set.
In spiritual communities, there’s a lot of people who talk about the importance of feeling good. Being high vibe all the time, thinking positive thoughts. Because if you don’t, you’re going to attract bad things into your life. In this mindset, one second of negative thoughts can derail all the work you’ve been putting in for years on yourself and your business.
“Oh no! You just thought about the debt that you currently have. Quick, start thinking about making millions of dollars, because even a second of thinking about your debt will attract more of it.”
So… this is obviously bullshit. On a very practical level, we need to face our problems in order to move through them, resolve them, and come to a resolution. I mean, if you refuse to think about your debt, you’re probably not taking any steps to pay it off, either.
And on a spiritual level, if we just Band-Aid our problems with affirmations about “positivity” and “good vibes only” (which we might not actually feel on a deep level, and so magically we are not putting our full energy behind it anyway), then we’re pretty much standing in a pile of shit, staring up at the sun and wondering why everything smells bad. That negative thing is going to stick around because we never took care of it, we just pretended it wasn’t happening.
Okay I’m being a little black or white here. Maybe the shit you’re standing in would wash away with the rain or be eaten by a bunch of small dogs, but a much much faster way, is to just clean it up yourself. Or feed it to your garden. Or at least take a few steps to the side.
This is where the concept of poison as medicine comes in.
At the right dosage, any poison can become medicine. And at the wrong dosage, any medicine can become poison. That’s why you can overdose on medicine that’s supposed to help you.
The ancient Greeks had a word for this: Pharmakon. Plato used it to talk about things that could be used as a cure or as poison… the answer, of course, is how we choose to use it. But if this idea stretches far enough back that Plato had something to say about it… you better believe there’s some real magical energy behind it.
For many of us, when it comes to the growth of our business and ourselves, Pharmakon plays out like this: our biggest traumas can actually become our biggest assets. In other words, our wounds can become our wealth (as the lovely Dr. Carolyn Elliott says. Which if you haven’t listened to our interview with her on the podcast, I’ll link it in the show notes).
This might be hard to believe at first, and it might even seem shocking to say out loud. Wait, what?? We’re supposed to acknowledge those scary and painful things that we hate thinking about?? But this is actually the only way to solve them. The same way that if you don’t talk about something in therapy that is deeply troubling you, you’re never going to figure out how to learn from it and stop letting it screw up your life. Or in soul reintegration sessions you go back to the root memory of something to re-experience it & heal it. Because the things that seem like poison have so much to teach us.
There are many who believe that this is why we incarnate. Before we were ever born, our souls choose the incarnation path that we come into, including the fucked up shit we have to go through in our childhood so that we can resolve our traumas. So that we can learn from them. So that we can master them. So that we can teach others about it. That mental shift into thinking about the challenges we face as gifts is the first big step to reframing how we think about them... (and eventually moving past them)
Princess Bride was one of my favorite movies growing up, one I’ve seen so many times. In the movie, Westley, the hunky long lost lover of our main heroine Buttercup is under the guise of Dread Pirate Roberts, and comes against Buttercup’s captor, Vizzini…
To try and get Buttercup back, Westley gives Vizzini a mental challenge: He sets two glasses of wine on a table in front of them & tells Vizzini that there’s poison in one of them. Vizzini has to figure out which one has the poison in it… And he guesses wrong. But not for the reason we think. The reason was that both glasses had poison in it, and Westley had just microdosed on the poison for years and built up his tolerance to the poison so that it didn’t matter how much he drank of it.
As business owners, this is a lot of life. In order to grow, we have to do uncomfortable things. Like microdose on a poison so that it can’t defeat us, and it actually becomes a strength.
Yes, we should be focusing on things that bring us into flow, that bring us joy, that feel like a part of our divine path... But to avoid all the other uncomfortable shit that comes with life is folly. Because that is where our growth lies.
Showing up live, posting every day, going on a sales call… These things that we might want to avoid or put on the backburner because they don’t feel good. They don’t feel in the flow... To avoid these things is to brush off our invitation to turn poison into medicine and poison into an asset. We lose our invitation to build resilience and to come out stronger.
A common form of “poison” is people saying mean things about you on the internet.
The worse version of this is you thinking that people will someday maybe say mean things about you so you never do anything or show up or share your truth or new direction. Because you’re scared. Of an future you don’t even know would come to pass.
But people saying mean things about you is a great example of poison as medicine.
Because. You only interpret things as mean and terrible and hurtful if some part of you believes it to be true. If you know, right off the bat, that the criticism is wrong, you won’t take offense to it, you’ll just brush it off. If someone told you that your boyfriend is a total asshole — when you’re single — or that the froyo chain you own is the scourge of humanity, when you don’t own a froyo place… you’re gonna think they’re crazy or don’t know who you are or they’re mistaken or whatever. It’ll roll off you.
But if someone comments on a post that you’re a scammer, when some part of you still feels weird about accepting money and being compensated for things that bring you joy… or if you’ve finally overcome your fear of appearing in front of the camera and then someone comments something rude about how you look or talk, you’re going to take that to heart. It will sting, and you might even regress a little bit and lose that courage that got you to where you are in your business.
So, being upset with what someone says about you says much more about you and your insecurities than whatever the actual comment said.
The pain and self-doubt that come are the poison. And what you choose to do with them — unpack and sort through them and work on integrating those parts of your shadow — can be the medicine.
Because now you have the antidote… you have the opportunity to work through it. And that’s when it’s time to step back and think deeply about why that wound hurts. Accept it. Embrace it. Or debunk it.
This is growth. This is using your business to grow on a soul level. And you can’t do that without a little poison.

Hey everyone!
So today I wanted to do a little Behind the scenes of a $513,000 online course launch.
These are real numbers from a relaunch we did for a client this year. This is actually a third launch for a single program - created this year, launch this year, and then relaunched 2 more times.
And with each launch of this program, things are just getting better and better. The launch goes more smoothly, word spreads more quickly, and we get even more people signing up.
A total argument for re-launching a stellar program versus launching brand new things all the time.
And I’ll just tell you now because I’m so excited and I can’t wait, but we actually got within 50 new members of our stretch goal for this launch.
Our goal was 250 new members, our stretch goal was 500 new members, but we were planning to launch again later this year to hit that number.
And we actually got 432 new members total, which means that we don't need to launch again this year. So actually this launch created less work for us which is really incredible.
So with 432 new members at the price of this program… this launch will make the business owner $513,000 over the next 12 months. And that’s not even including the hundreds of other members in the program right now who have been there since the first or second launch.
All together… this launch has helped us cross over into a million-dollar program. And it’s still growing!
Launches are this really interesting thing energetically and when it comes to business. There’s always the strategic and practical side of a launch… and then there’s the energetic & magical side to a launch. And me and my team really believe that you need BOTH to be aligned to have big success (whatever that success might look like to you specifically).
Memberships have blown up over the last year because of Stu Mclarens tribe program. You’ve probably seen more and more online businesses launching their own memberships, maybe you’ve even joined one or considered joining one. And maybe you’re wondering if it’s time for you to launch your own.
Hopefully this episode can help you answer that question and give you some insight and ideas into how to have the super successful launch and program of your dreams.
First thing’s first: I honestly don’t recommend starting an online membership unless you have a large audience and a team. It’s a ton of work to implement, and the more you grow and scale, the more work it becomes.
And just to clarify - a membership is when someone is paying you month after month for a set amount of new things month after month - whether that’s calls with you, new content, products, whatever. This is different than a course in that, in general, a course is something you create once, and maybe you add to it and make it better over time, but you’re charging your audience a set price for a set amount of stuff.
While memberships have been made sexy… There are downsides.
As I said, you do need a big audience to hit the monthly revenue to make it worth the amount of effort in general takes.
There’s also churn.
People who are canceling every month.
So you have to be constantly bringing in new people to cover the costs of the program & to keep a good profit margin.
Now I’m seeing a trend of people selling a full year of membership - which is not really a membership. Because you’re not just launching to get people for a short-term program, you’re not even really trying to lock people in for a year, you’re trying to lock people in for life or for however long you plan to have this membership last.
If you have a year-long membership, that’s really just a slightly-longer than usual but still short-term program. At the end of that year you are going to need to re-sell the program to the people who just completed it to try to get them to stay in.
So. Unless you have the team in place to continually launch the program… AND keep the current members happy and well cared for… AND continue to scale your business… this is not the time for you to start your membership program.
But I’m not here today to talk about memberships.
Now, let’s dive into the nitty gritty details of this past launch we just orchestrated here at Dirty Alchemy and look at why it was so successful.
If you’ve been listening to this podcast for a while, you’ve probably heard me say before that I recommend relaunching a program over launching a new program. And this launch is a great example of why.
This was our biggest launch ever for this program — and the best part is, it wasn’t even supposed to be! We really didn’t expect this launch to be as big as it was. But that’s just what happens when you’re able to learn from past launches exactly what your audience wants.
Not to mention, it can be way less work to relaunch a product!
For this launch, we already had the sales page made. So while we did add to that sales page and edit it based on what seemed to work (or not work) during our past launches, most of the copy and the website building was done before we even started this relaunch. And the entire marketing funnel into the program was already established and well underway.
We were already super clear on what our offer was. Which is actually a really big deal.
The very first time you launch a product, sometimes there’s a gap between what you as the business owner are offering to people and what your audience understands about your offer. Or even a gap between what you think the offer will be & what it really becomes!
This is just classic communication issues that can totally be resolved and prevented, but I believe a lot of it comes from the business owner not always being super clear on what the execution of their brilliant ideas are.
They know exactly what they want to give their members in terms of what transformation they’re offering. But they don’t know exactly how that will look in practice.
So the awesome thing about re-launching is you already know exactly what the inside of your program looks like. You can tell people very clearly what they can expect because you’ve already seen it all play out in real time. And that helps to make it super clear who you are and what you’re all about to people who think your program might be for them.
Also, and this is big -- you can learn so much about your customer avatar by looking at who’s already in your program. By using social listening inside your program, you get crystal clear insight into what your ideal customers want and how they think your program can help them get it. Because ideally there's an open forum in your program where they're already talking about that amongst themselves. And so as you're trying to sell your program to new members, you can use all of this insight from your current members to say, “okay, I know what people want, I know how I can help them get there, and now I know exactly what I need to tell them to give them an understanding of how my program will help them get there.”
I've said this before but it’s still so true that you need to be the unicorn. Your customers are going to flock to you when they feel like you are fitting exactly what they need, their niche interests. So the more clear you are on your offerings, and what the members get from your offerings, the more like a unicorn you'll be.
Another thing about a membership program is that your offerings can change.
Obviously you don't want to welcome people into the program on one premise and then completely change that premise. It's also a ton of extra work for you if you decide halfway through that something isn't working so you're going to completely change it.
So you do want to be super clear about your offerings and why those are your offerings and how they can help people before your program even begins.
But once your program has started, you can use feedback from current members to make your program even better. And that can help you continue to scale your program and improve your program in a way that's going to make current members stick around, and is actually going to help you get new members as well.
By the way, if you’re still trying to figure out exactly what your program should look like, check out episode 7 on how to distill your message and make truly transformational programs. I’ll link it in the show notes. In that episode, I go in-depth into how to get people to join and stay in your program, and there is sooo much incredible information there so check that out.
Anyway, back to the behind the scenes. One thing we did during this launch was we had fresh eyes review

If you’ve been listening to the podcast for a bit, this is an episode I’ve been dancing around. It’s been on my mind since my 30th birthday last month.
In classic birthday routine, I was reflecting on the past year.
And it being a milestone birthday, the passage of a decade, I was reflecting on all of my 20’s.
I looked back on my 20’s and it made me sad. I tortured myself.
I think this is common because there aren’t many great examples of how to live a truly fulfilling life, and we’re spoon fed the idea that we need to go to college, get a degree, get married, buy a house, have a baby, while also getting a steady job, making money, saving for retirement…
It’s a lot of external markers that we’re shown as success.
Because of my confusion on how to make myself happy & what my life was supposed to look like, I had so many pockets of...
Hating myself, abusing myself, second-guessing myself, being unsure about my direction, and dealing with depression and anxiety.
I put myself through so much pain when I didn’t have to at all.
But just being on the other side of it & being so clear in my vision and clear of the future and happy with where everything is at and where everything is going…
It’s just so clear how much torture I put myself through that was really unnecessary.
And that brings us to the point of today’s episode:
Building a successful business on a f*cked up brain.

If you’re like most online business owners, your business started with just you.
You doing the writing and you creating the graphics. You building your website, setting up your marketing strategy, figuring out how to create a Facebook ads campaign, and managing your social media accounts. You acting as customer service and bookkeeper and tech support.
And this could have gone on for years, with you doing everything.
Eventually, this shifts. You make enough consistent revenue or get enough clients to hire some help. And you now have a team.
But does that mean you’re actually allowing people to help you as much as they can once you build your team?
In my experience... No.
When I first started managing online course launches, I had a team of 10 to delegate to. Every capacity filled: Admin, customer service, copywriter, graphic designers, community manager, tech support…
With a team this size, and with everyone in their niche role, you would think it would be easy to delegate. But in the middle of a launch, in the middle of all the chaos and last minute changes, and even in the months during planning in the pre-launch phase…
I would tell myself things that I later realized were extremely common among multi-talented online entrepreneurs:
“I can do it better myself.”“It would take me less time to do it myself than to teach someone how to do it... so I’ll just do it.”(These are lies that were holding me back, by the way)
Usually there are areas so outside of your expertise as a business owner that you can easily delegate them. Maybe the tech and graphics aren’t your strong suit so you delegate those every 👏 single 👏 time 👏. But there are usually 1 to 2 areas that you’re pretty good at, maybe even great at, that you’re putting off delegating to other people because of the learning curve or impatience.
I’m here today to tell you that: THIS IS HOLDING YOU BACK!
“Amazing things happen when you start focusing primarily on what you do best and eliminate or delegate the rest.” - Michael HyattAs humans, there are a lot of things we’ll do to procrastinate on the hard or uncomfortable stuff. We’ll avoid things that could take us to the next level and free up our time, because we don’t want to do them ourselves, and we’re too afraid to let someone else do them...
(And I know it can be hard to let go of all the extra work when your self-worth is attached to being busy or a hard worker or a hustler. But reminder: you’re worthy because you’re alive.)
Maybe you think I’m going too much into this. But understanding why you’re not delegating certain tasks, or why you’re choosing to do everything yourself, is important.
This is the difference between you being an employee of your business, and you being the badass powerful CEO your business. You need to know that, yes, your employees won’t be able to do certain things as well as you can in the beginning.
It will take them longer to do it.
It’ll take time to teach them how to do it.
And it will take you time to correct them and fix errors.
But the time you put into delegating and teaching is not wasted. It’s an investment.
An investment in a future where your team supports you and is even better at tasks than you are.
Can you believe in that potential?
Each time you teach a member of your team to do something you usually do yourself, you’re buying future time. You’re buying time for yourself when you don’t have to do that thing anymore. Buying time to do you things that only you can do, things that will up level your business.
Like...
Creating the vision, connecting with the soul of your business, opening up potentials & portals of expansion...
...while your team ensures your business runs smoothly.
Does delegating seem more like it’s worth it now?
Good. Now, let’s get on to how we actually do it.
So how do you actually delegate?1. First you have to commit to it.Every time a task comes up that’s not in your zone of genius, commit to delegating it. Even when you don’t feel like it.
Start with those super common repetitive tasks that you don’t like doing. This will free up your time and energy to delegate more of your business, and it will free up more and more of your time for more important things - whether that’s a time for your business, travel, or just playing with your tarot deck.
2. Write out or record instructions.Create step-by-step instructions that are documented and can be referred to again and again. This can be in a Google Doc, this can be with Loom — any tool you want to use that will physically document how you do it.
Don’t assume your team knows anything. Include links, passwords, examples, templates. These will become your Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
The future phase of this will be making these so detailed that someone off the street could do what you want just by reading your directions. This may sound stupid or unnecessary, but you’re setting your business up to run without you. AKA, it will give you the freedom you dreamed of when you started your business in the first place.
3. Give deadlines. For smaller tasks, this is a simple due date. For more complicated tasks this may be deadlines for different versions of drafts or different phases of a project.
4. Define your desired result. If your team doesn’t know what success looks like then they won’t be able to give you what you want. Define your key outcomes and make your desired result clear.
5. Check in before the deadline.Don’t just set a deadline and assume that your team will hit it.
Especially in the beginning: remind remind remind. Send an email or Voxer a few days beforehand asking the status of a project and if they think they’ll get it done in time.
This will help ensure everyone is on the same page.
6. Be open and available for questions.Especially when you’re getting started with delegating, you probably aren’t explaining things as clearly and step-by-step as your team needs. That means you actually have to be easy to get a hold of to answer questions.
Remember, your team is there to support you, and they want to support you. So you need to set them up for success by answering the questions that they have.
7. Actually give feedback. If they do it wrong, don’t just redo it yourself. Even though you’ll be very very tempted to do this.
Give feedback on how you’d actually like it to be. This is an important step of the process, not just for your team but also for you to learn how to delegate better. Because if you delegated it perfectly the first time, they’d have already done it perfectly 😜
Learning these methods of delegating will help you take your business to the next level.Of course, a key component to all of this is that you need to be open to being supported. Your team needs to have the opportunity, time, and space to get the job done.
You’ll be tempted to disappear into your office alone and get everything done yourself. Don’t do it!
Be open to having the support of your team. If you find that you have a lot of inner push-back against the idea of other people “doing your job” or assisting you, take time to meditate on and think deeply about why that is. And then change it. Your business will thank you & all of the additional people you can serve by being able to SCALE your business will thank you too.
Delegating is a choice, and it will get easier once you begin to consistently choose to do it. At first it might feel like an upward climb for you and your time, with all the new SOPs and documents you have to get together, but in the long run it will transform your business for the better.
After all, when it’s time to scale your business, having these instructions ready to go will make your life much easier.
With enough practice, your team will know exactly what you want. And they’ll begin to consistently give that to you.
