Today I am joined by one of our very talented team members, Rebecca Papas from the BuildHer Collective. Rebecca heads up our interior design department and I’m so excited to have her on to talk about how we can maximise interior design in our developments - even in the projects that don’t have a huge budget.
Rebecca studied interior design and received a diploma before going on to study architecture. She is passionate about spatial design and how we use spaces to build emotions in our clients. She is an absolute goldmine of useful knowledge and she’s here to share her gold nuggets with you!
We know at the end of the day, the developer still needs to make money because they have their own family to feed, bills to play and has a lot on the line but if we take more time to consider what would be ideal for the end user and know how to use spaces more effectively, we can create homes where people will love living for many years.
The BuildHer Collective includes interior design and we tend to target it for investors including townhouses or developments. We really aim to increase that basic level of thought that goes into the stock standard home to increase their value, livability and enjoyment for the people living in it.
We’ll explore the consideration that needs to go into designing the space, the psychology behind the scenes, designing for emotions, common pitfalls of developers not keeping the end user in the design, and creating an incredible experience without increasing your budget too high.
If you consider the overall design and livability in your own plans, you can create a unique home that incorporates the personality of the people living in it and they’ll love it for years and years to come.
