Rerun: Barriers Preventing Allied Health Business Owners from Doing Things Differently

Listen Later

This week’s rerun is a wonderful episode with Chantelle Robards – Allied Health Subject Matter Specialist at Ernst & Young Global Consulting Services – where she discussed several barriers that seemed to be preventing many Allied Health business owners from stepping outside their comfort zone and doing things differently.

We chat about the NDIS and its barriers, as well as the overall workforce including undergrad preparation, volume of students required to meet current needs, and the short and long-term impacts of more Allied Health professionals leaving the profession. You’ll also hear Chantelle’s thoughts on Allied Health Assistants (AHA’s) such as engaging in training, the commercial reality of making AHA’s work, and whether the NDIS will require for AHA’s to be qualified.

Topics covered on the NDISAllied Health workforce, and Allied Health Assistants

  • The barriers of the NDIS that affect how business owners do business differently, and whether the NDIS will require AHA’s to be qualified.

  • Undergraduate preparation, the impacts of Allied Health Assistants (AHA’s) leaving the profession, and the volume of students required to meet current needs.

  • The importance of engaging in training for AHA’s, the commercial reality of making AHA’s work, and delegating and releasing work to AHA’s.
